We almost bought the 26HE as we are in the group that leaves home at home. The 26HE has just enough comforts but remains small enough to go anywhere.

We just got the same one a few months ago. We absolutely love it.

A few things. Get the leveling blocks. it tends to lean a little with the slide out and you feel a bit like you are laying downhill.

Also the bed is hard as a rock. A mattress pad doesn't do much. We bought a 4" memory foam pad but haven't tried that yet. Hopefully its better.

Also up in the bunk we didn't realize right away but there is storage under the pads.

Otherwise we love it. its the perfect size for my wife, 2 kids, and 2 dogs. We came from a 33' class A and this is much better. Also tows my boat like a champ.

You are right - the mattress is hard as a rock! You'll have to let me know if the memory foam pad helps any.

My daughter found the storage in the bunk as she claimed that area right away!

So far it's been perfect for my daughter and I and our 2 dogs. It's super easy to drive and set up. Only done a couple weekend trips so far though. Can't wait for more!

Just got 26HE and we love it, or I should say we will love it. Slide isn't working properly and have to reset board each time in or out. One awning motor isn't working and a piece of trim flew off going to the road ? Waiting for Camping World to call us to bring into service department ? Thor's customer service has been great. They approved warranty work and CW ordered parts. Just waiting impatiently for them to call us and schedule.

Thor 26HE

We purchased our 2017 26HE last march. Have only made short trips up to 300 miles so far. Waiting for wife to retire next year (school Teacher), then we are planning to go across country. We like the unit.
Got most of the quirks straighten out.
Added a safety-plus steering stabilizer (which made a world of difference in steering), 4 inch memory foam to bed (which makes it just right), added flat screen TV to bedroom, Added MAX air vent covers (with screens) to all three vents (no worrying about rain anymore), and figured out how to store dump hose in rear bumper. Had to grind down the hose locking ring just a bit, but works fine. Also purchase ACME tow dolly, to tow compact car.

It's been over a year since Toni has checked in: I wonder how how the rig is working out?

Our fourwinds 26b looks exactly like the 26HE. We love it now that we got all the bugs worked out (fingers crossed) and have it out camping alot this year. It even drives nicer now after I fixed the rattles. It's now got about 2700 miles on it and starting to see a little and I mean little improvement on gas mileage plus handles nicer.

Well done: you made it!
Glad to hear that your FE 26 HE is a real keeper...
What trips do you have planned for the NEXT 6,000 miles?

2018 Freedom Elite 26 HE - 10 month 6,000 mile Review

I have a 2018 Freedom Elite 26 HE and it is just right for a couple or small family. The Ford E-350 performs well but, the unit is susceptible to cross winds, as is most motor-homes. We pull a Chevy Sonic (Toad) and there is no effect on the performance. Traveling through the Rocky Mountains is no problem. However, you have to keep you speed down on steep inclines as, the engine downshifts, and rpm's increase, to get you up the incline. Going down steep twisty mountains is no problem using the towing mode and the Toad braking system. If you buy any new motor home expect a host of minor problems that will need you attention before the warranty expires. We have either had Camping World or Thor resolve the problems.
