Hello. We are totally new to RVing. Maybe a simple fix here so I’ll give it a try
I have 2017 Thor Axis 25.5 with Axxtera radio, etc. the radio and lighter appear to work with only 110 volts
When we’re under way it works but it seems I cannot get cameras to work like they did before I bought it
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance
Bobo

You mean the radio only works when your plugged into shore power or on generator? When you are underway, the radio is working on 12v. The Axis does not have an inverter so there is no 110v power. How did the cameras work before differently than they work now?

Welcome. You’ve come to the right place for answers. Add the following awesome reference to your library.

On my Axis I have to have the main power switch on and the ignition on for the radio and cameras to work.

Yep, USE/STORE switch in USE. You are not getting voltage from your house batteries to the DC buss.

Welcome to the forum!

That Use/Store button must be on for the coach batteries to charge, too. When you store, be sure to turn it to Store. It won't stop all the drain on the batteries, but it will stop most of it. Some have installed a battery cut off switch. I start my Vegas every couple of weeks and let it run awhile, and haven't needed a cut off.

The correct answer is “Have the main house switch on because there is no inverter”. Also, the chassis battery does not charge from shore power. You can add a trickle charger to remedy that issue.
To add a trickle charger to an Axis 25.6, remove the desk assembly in front of the passenger seat. Carefully saw through the two tabs on the plywood cutout and remove the cutout. Dont throw it away! I’ll tell you how to use it later. The results access hole is directly over the chassis battery. Attach a trickle charger and run the wire under the edge of the desk assembly. Replace the desk, plug in your charger to 120 outlet by passenger seat. You now will charge you chassis battery and house batteries when plugged in to shore power. Be sure the main cutoff switch is ON.

One of the first issues you may encounter with a Thor Axis 25.6 is poor steering or handling. Some of the problem is the fact that these units do not come properly aligned from the factory. In addition, the front sway bar is wholly undersized as is the steering damper. An alignment and replacement of the sway bar and dampener with quality products will make handling so very much better.

Unless the new Axis are different, the chassis battery is charged on both shore power/generator and engine alternator as are the house batteries.
