Smile New to forum and RVing

Tony and I are new to RVing. We picked up our Thor Axis 25.1 Nov 2015. We started RVing April 2016. We visited 12/34 of the Indiana State Parks in 2016. We are on the road again in 2017. We hope to visit all the Indiana State Parks before we head out on the wide open road. The forum really helped us immensely with figuring out our MH, and a special shout out to Jamiegeek, he helped us beyond belief. I was not able to become a member of the forum until the app became available, so happy to be an official member.

New to me Thor Siesta 2015

I am new to Thor Forum. So much to learn, so much to pack........ Just the basics, I know. Would love a list of food ideas that use just a few ingredients. Also, is the black 1/2" plug to the left of the water fill what I should use to drain the water which has been in the fresh water tank for 2 years.

Thanks so much and may the fun begin,

Susan

Question Pole for camping signs and flag

Any ideas, pictures of poles for signs and flag. Instructions for the PVC post/pole with light on top. Thanks

I just bought the Flagpole Buddy. I like it except that I haven't figured out a light for it yet. Once you have it installed it is very convenient to put the flag pole up and down. It telescopes down to 4 ft. When installed fully it is a 22 foot pole and will hold two 3 foot by 5 foot flags.

Thanks I like the flag pole on the rear ladder. I will definitely check it out. I also am in search of a pole to hang signs on. I have seen several made out of PVC pipe

On the Axis front overhead bed , air mattress that came with it doesn't hold air. We want to get foam with a memory top. What is the thickest the foam can be and be able to leave it on the bed and be able to put it up safely?

You should be able to just measure the lip at the side of the bed to get a decent idea for that.

In the case of our 2014 Axis the lip is about 1" or so thus not really acceptable for a comfortable foam mattress. What we did was order one about 6" thick and put it on the rear beds when we travel. When we're camping we simply retract the front bed until the mattress hits the ceiling (I realize that this means we can't retime the motors at the top when we're camping--we haven't had an issue so far and we retime the motors at the bottom when lowering it every time).

Thanks, we have ordered a 6" foam as well , our lip is about 4 inches. Hopefully it come in soon. We are hoping to be able to leave on bed. If not, we will probably store it in the shower.

Search flag pole lights on Amazon, they have several.

We have the Flagpole Buddy as well and I used a couple of wire coat hangers to add a light to the top with the ball above it. The Flagpole Buddy ball just fits into the end of the topmost pole, so it is a matter of getting the light that you want and adding the coat hangers into both the ball at top and then through the light into the top pole. I used two to give it as much friction as needed to keep the light horizontal.

And no sooner did I post about our Flagpole Buddy, we had a major gust of wind that snapped it off just above the ladder... so sad. My mother in law stopped by to bring our laundry to us and told me the flags were down... I had to go out into the rain and pull down the U.S. Flag and take the whole thing down.

Back to the drawing board...
