Coastal Carolina Vegas Driver

Hey Y'all.

I'm Cal Bridgers and live in the little community of Whortonsville, NC which is 35 miles east of New Bern.

Been thinking of a large RV (have a Kompac Kamp Mini-Mate I pull behind the 2003 Gold Wing trike) for quite a while and finally "pulled the trigger" last month. Got myself a 2015 Thor Vegas with just over 11K miles.

Haven't taken a long trip as yet due to my GF still working on her retirement. Me, I've been retired from the US Navy since 1990 and retired from running kitchens in sports bars since 2001.

Been snoping around the forum and already seen a couple of mods I'll be doing to the Vegas.

Hopefully I'll see some of you on the road and if you're down this way I got a septic tank outlet in the yard and a 30AMP outlet on the exterior of the house.

Congratulations and welcome.

If you haven't already download and read Ed's excellent crowd sourced Axis/Vegas owner's manual:

Thanks for the info but I downloaded The Manual before I did anything else on this forum. Will be printing it out so it is readily handy.

Howdy Cal,
Congrats on the coach and welcome aboard the forum. Hope you have many great trips and adventures in it. As Jamie recommended, be sure and get a copy of Ed's manual. Also, keep reading the forum as there are some important areas of your Vegas you will want to check before heading out so you have a trouble free trip.
If I ever get over in your neck of the woods, I'll give you a ring and see if you are around and we can compare "Do list"-done and "Do list" pending.
Happy trails.

Welcome and congratulations! Thanks for your service to the country.

Some have said that our RVs are actually a "kit" when we buy them. Have fun making yours just right.

Hi Cal!
Are you going to sell the Kompact Kamp?
(I suppose that you could tow it behind your rig as an "in-Law room"! )

I've always like the design of them: keep me in mind, if you decide to free up some storage space!

Cal, I live in Fuquay Varina and have an 2018 Axis 24.1. I might just take you up on your offer. I am a Retired Army Officer and I'm thoroughly enjoying my Axis.

Won't hold being Army against you. Was stationed with them at JUSMAG-Korea, Seoul in the 70's plus my natural father was a First Sergeant.

'Tis a small world we live in. I lived in the first set of house builts in Sandy Springs. That was way before they put a Food Lion across from the cemetery. Went to Wake Tech for a couple degrees then worked sports bars and restaurants before I packed up in 02 and moved down here.

You're welcome anytime.
