Family of 5 joining the RV experience

Overly excited SoCal family purchased a used 2015 Challenger 37DT in May. Nobody in the family has ever had RV experience. Been contemplating for a good 2yrs and finally saw the right deal and stopped trying to make it make financial sense. Its all about the experience for the family and the 3 kids.

Within the first 4 months have taken 8 (2-4 night,<4hrs drive) trips and the family is in LOVE . Went a little on the big side for a first -time owner but we keep our cars for 15-20 yrs so hoping we get some good usage as the kids grow.

Planning our first road trip CA-AZ-NM (white sands, Carlsbad Caverns,) to TX (Waco,Dallas) to OKC and back to CA. Purchasing dolly in a few weeks to bring our TSX along for the trip.

Overly impressed (almost suspicious at first) of the warm reception and sense of family/community during each of our trips. It's not something you experience all the time in your day to day life. Thankful for God's hand in it all.

Congratulations and welcome.

Yeah RV'ers tend to be a friendly bunch. Remember everyone is, usually, happy: they are on vacation.

Congrats and welcome to the forum. Camping creates memories for the kids that last a life time. All 3 of my girls went camping with us when they were young and all 3 still camp today.

Congrats on the purchase. When you head to Arizona stop at Tombstone. They have a great RV park in town and it is reasonable in price. We went there 2 times this past summer from So. Calif. We also took a 5 week trip to Florida, Virginia, Kentucky and back. Wonderful time. Try also going to Yellowstone National Park.

Welcome aboard!
My folks started camping with us kids in the 1960's. Of the five of us that used to go with the parents 4 of us still GO Rving. One has a travel trailer, two of us have class A's and my oldest sister and her hubby have a truck camper. We wouldn't have gotten the camping bug without mom and dad taking us when we were young.
Get those kids started early making a lifetime memories!
