Greetings from Delaware

Hello, my spouse and I just purchased our first Vegas 24.1. As it turns out it wasn’t our first choice but it will do for now, if it’s something we want long term such as as for retirement in 10 years, we will certainly upgrade. For now it’s a huge learning curve since we know nothing about motorhomes. For example, why is it necessary to use the battery disconnect every time, we have to leave the coach, I have to reprogram everything. And the generator didn’t want to restart after 4 hours we left the coach, we were arranging things in the coach turned off the generator for 4 hours then tried to restart it but it wouldn’t. We had to run the engine for a while before the generator would start again. Is this normal? I’m looking forward to learning from you all and getting to know you.

Sylvia

First, Congratulations on your new coach and welcome to the forum!!! I’m sure someone will chime in with the link to Ed’s manual which will be a great resource for you, it has everything you need to know about your coach.

You don’t have to put the switch in the store position, even when you do that there is still a lot of parasitic drain on the batteries, just leave it in use all the time. The batteries won’t charge if you’re plugged in and switch is in the store position.

Hope you have lots of FUN!!!

Congrats and welcome.

Normally that would be me posting a link to Ed's manual (go to tech topics, it's a sticky there) but we're out using our 24.1.

Welcome to our Campfire!
No doubt: there's quite a learning curve to these things...
But you'll get it, and you'll even be giving advice to others in no time flat!
