Hello From Louisiana

Been camping since 95. We’ve owned several 5vers. We are looking to move to a Moterhome. We like Thor. Would like to downsize on the length and slides. 1 long slide... 2 at the most and 32 feet or under . We are considering Thor Freedom Traveler. Class A

Unfortunately you will have to buy a Freedom Elite from Camping World. I would suggest you find a Thor dealer and see what they have to offer. The four series that are built in Thor Plant 750 are all similar. The series are Freedom Elite class A, ACE, Hurricane, and Windsport. You can check out the motor homes and retail prices at Motor Home Specialist RV website (all but freedom Elite which is camping world only). MHSRV is the RV worlds largest Thor motor home dealer.

Welcome to the forum! My standard advice for those considering their first RV or first motor home is to rent one before you buy. Best is to rent something identical or similar to the rig your think you want.

This is how you find out what you can tolerate and what you can't. An example would be corner beds. They may seem acceptable until the inside one has to get up in the middle of the night!

Read up on some of the experiences with various dealers before you buy. The big chain store already mentioned is aggressive on sales, but warranty service has been frustrating at best at many of them. Your research will pay off!

With over 20 years camping and multiple units, you should have a perfect idea of what floor plan and features will fit your requirements. Just read up on the front end of whatever unit you choose. Lots of variations with heat issues from engines, noise from having to run at 4,000RPM up hills, front suspensions issues, loose windows/wind noise and general quality issues of a motor home company's attempts to building a truck cab. Biggest reason we went with a Super C or any larger C class over an A. A lot of these issues I mention will not show up on an extended "test drive". Throw your ideas out...we'll talk about them over the weenie roast and get back with you. Good luck!!

The Freedom Traveler looks like a pretty nice rig: welcome to the forum!
