Congratulations and best of luck with your Vegas. We're heading down to FL on Friday to Topsail Preserve SP for a few days. If you're ever up that way, think you'd enjoy it.

Went to Topsail Preserve website.
I found all the info regarding the RV sites@

We are going to Lakeland in July...and have driven, virtually, every route available between KC and central FL ...
Looking for a, new to us, overnite stop along the Gulf/Panhandle...I know there are several...a friend stayed at Carrabelle RV Resort...it is east of Panama City...

Topsail has 156 full hook up sites w/cable TV and has its own unobstructed beach with a van in the campground that will take you there and drop you off very close by (short walk down a boardwalk). We took our bikes and rode there from our campsite.

Haven't stayed at Carrabelle so can't comment.

Here's another web link to Topsail:

LOL! We feel the same way about the MI <-> FL trip as well. (The last time we did that trip was in the Axis in December a year ago...coming home in a blizzard wasn't fun but the rest of the trip was great .)

Ha ! a close friend of ours was caught in that storm returning in her RV from Lady Lake, FL...in Tennessee, the hiway was closed ! Her first experience like that...but, she made it !

I love the Gulf Coast and hope I can talk Ron into driving along it to, at least, Sarasota area, before we pickup the Interstate into Tampa and East to Lakeland. Have not looked at the map yet to see what we might do.
Still working on our end of May trip west !

K -- so if you are going as far as Lakeland another 45 miles and you'll be at my favorite landing pad for the Felker Mobile Chateau. You can write a review and tell me whether I'm full of it.

Welcome to the forum!

We are really happy with our 2016 25.2 that we picked up in June. Fits us just right. We don't claim to have driven every road from FL to the mid West, but have been on several routes. So many great places to see and people to meet, and no airport worries!

We passed Carrabelle in November, and it looked nice and well kept. We stayed at Ho Hum RV, which was all gravel and no grass, but right on the gulf. OK if you want to fish off the dock, or like us for just a passing through overnight.

We stayed for a few nights at Topsail, and we know why our friends love it. Great for bikes. Paved roads, sewer connections, and cable TV are rare at state parks. When we were there in November, biting flies made the beach unbearable. But a short drive took us to a public beach that was great.

If we end up in that area again, we'll check out one of the other St Pks.
