Hello from Las Vegas

My name is Dave and my wife is Annie. We live in Las Vegas and have just purchased a 2016 Compass. It is our 1st RV. I have attached a picture of the Compass. We know next to nothing and would welcome any suggestions. Anyone know why the slide out doesn't extend? I know it may have something to do with the coach not being level.

Congratulations to you on your purchase. So, first question on your slider.... what are you doing different now that it is not working?

Congratulations, and welcome.

The slide out won't extend when the ignition is on or the engine is running. Make sure the ignition is off and they key has been removed.

We just brought it home from the lot and were checking everything out. We hadn't tried the slide by ourselves. I knew it had to be level and the engine had to be off. I didn't take the key out of the ignition. Thanks for your reply!

Also the motors for the slide are 12 VDC, so be sure your USE/STORE switch is in USE so that the house batteries are connected.

Semper Fi!

Hello Dave,

USMC 1974-1978. Thanks for your welcome. Annie and I are looking forward to our trips. We used to tent camp back in the day but are too old to sleep on the ground now. There is so much to learn. Any tips for the new guy?

Ooh Rah! Want a good tip? Take your time and have fun!!!

I spent to many days on the ground when I was younger, didn't seem to bad back then. I've worked hard all my life so when I got older I could enjoy my comfort, and I intend to!!!

If you have questions or concerns this forum is the place to ask them! LOTS of super nice people willing to help and share their experience with others!

Hi, I'm also a gemini owner, we've had ours about 5 months now. One quick tip w that use/store switch. Our jenson radio is in entrance way directly across from switch. If your anal like me ,your going to keep pressing switch to make sure its off. If lights on radio are on , use switch is on, also check auxiliary battery level often w button on control panel. Stock batteries don't seem to hold charge as long. Congratulations on new RUV.
