Just atarting out my boyfriend and I bought a 1987 Fleetwood Southwind.

Its very good condition its been compleatly renovated (except for our poor very outdated bathroom, which I will be correcting). It was kind of turned into a tiny house style RV and really love it but we have got stuck on a few things thats for sure so we wanted to find some places to ask for answers from people who will understand first hand from experience. I have some improvements but the pictures wont add for some reason. But I wanted to introduce my lovely project.Click image for larger version

We paid about 4,500. There were a few issues but they are very manageable. The heater is disconected from the propane the previous owner showed us all the paperwork for repair and it kept leaking and was just unsafe so the compleatly disconnected it for safety its 3,000 to compleatly reinstall it and its just not worth it. Its only a 20 AMP but my boyfriend is an electrician so he is going to do an external power panel and connect both so that we have updated power, just takes time and money and we need to update the bathroom the rest of the RV has been converted into a tiny house I have a work studio for my small business. The RV only has 64,000 miles on it. Propaine think is presure release fill its very strange but we figured it out. Kust took a while lol. But we love it, little ugly on the outside beautiful inside.

I think it looks nice. You can slowly update is some as time and funds allow. Instead of a forced heat (with a fan) you might looking into a ventless propane heater. They are only like $150 - $200 but you have to crack open a window or roof vent when in use. Plus you can use a small fan to circulate around the RV.

Welcome. Your Southwind kinda is a tiny house. You'll have good suggestions here. You might also look for a Fleetwood forum and check out the IRV2 forum.

Enjoy the journey!

Very cool ride! Enjoy every mile in it. Make sure it’s safe and reliable then you can work on any cosmetic issues as time and funding allow. And welcome to the forum. It’s a terrific place to learn and hangout.
