New Thor 28Z Owners

We live in Orleans, Ontario, Canada. Planning our first RV trip to the Gaspe region in Quebec. We've already had issues with our new RV since buying last September (new awning motor from the get go, had to replace Axxera multi-media radio, now at dealer to assess water damage due to poor caulking/sealing in panels by both driver/passenger doors). I'm sure there will be more to come especially after reading posts on this Forum. Take it in stride I guess!

Welcome, Sorry to hear about your problems. Hopefully you can get most of the bugs worked out this year and have smooth sailing next year. This Forum has helped me remendously with my RV. I have fixed or modified so many things. Most I rather just do myself VS bring into the dealer and get the run around.

Thanks and I agree with you. We'll be going around and re-caulking or sealing all areas that need it and doing most of the minor fixes ourselves. The major fixes for warranty repairs.

yep, thats the way to do it. I check the roof every other month or so. My rig is only a year old and I had to caulk 4 different spots that were suspect. Im just glad I got them before I had a leak. Its a contant battle to stay on top of loose screws, caulk and a few other minor things when you own an RV. But most of us agree its worth it in the long run. Plus most of us like to tinker with them anyway.

We had our entire coach resealed this spring. (2016 ws31) We haven't driven it in the rain yet, so hope sealing the trim on the slide cured that leak. Our coach is at the shop now having the slide motors replaced. The rear one decided to stop working while out with our G-daughters. :/ Hopefully your issues stop rearing their ugly head and you can enjoy being out RVing!

And remember..when re-caulking, make sure you remove all old caulk and clean the area with alcohol (not rum) before re-applying.
