New 2018 Thor ACE 29.3

Wifey and I just purchased a new 2018 29.3. Our 4th RV, first motorhome. Maiden voyage was a 1k mile jaunt throughout Calif. First impressions; Had to replace the house batteries as they were obviously dead from sitting on the lot for the last 2-1/2 years. Is a handfull to drive. Probably be looking for suspension upgrades to assist in relaxed driving vs. white knuckles. Ha! Overall, love it! Robert

Congratulations. I had been trying to get one for about 9 months. It is my favorite floor plan with the 2 ACs and residential fridge. I am looking at Windsport 27bs now. I am conceding residential fridge and accepting that the 27b has a flip up bed. I want unit under 30' and despite all of the flack I hear about Thor, I can find no one with a better more functional unit than what Thor has to offer at 30' or less.

I did the CHF first as it is easy and free, then added a steering stabilizer, but the best was a track bar for the rear.

I also added Sumo springs for the front and Centramic wheel balancers to all wheels

We just bought a used 2018 29.3. Thor ace with 2,300 miles on it. Took one 100 mile trip and we are off on a few weeks for 7 hour drive. I’d be interested to know if you spent the $$ in the suspension and track bar upgrades mentioned below. If you did, did it make a big difference?

Congratulations on your new coach!

We had the sway bar bolts relocated, steering stabilizer installed and a precision alignment completed. I also installed a track bar. We have about 23k miles on her having made a couple of mid west journeys.

Overall it's way better however still looking at the possibility of Sumo springs. Enjoy!

Stereo up front is dead, but everything else works in the rv. Assume probably a fuse for the radio.

Try resetting it using a paperclip and the small hole on the front.

Our bedroom has two sliding doors that function when the slider is out.
The door with the lock on it hopped off the pin which is attached to the internet door.
Can’t seem to figure out how to lift the door up and put it back on the pin…..because there is zero ‘give’ to lift it up.

Disconnect it at the hangers, put the bottom back together, reconnect the hangers.

Congratulations on the new rig! And especially the relatively trouble free 1,000 mile shakedown trip. Love when that happens - NICE!

Start with a front wheel alignment then decide what else to do and in what order.

CHF, alignment, front wheel balance, steering stabilizer. I cruise one handed at 65 mph. Dynamite under doghouse helped with sound.

Dynamite makes big loud boom when hot.
