Dump station switch

2009 Mandalay 43D
I am attaching 2 pictures of my sewage dump station.
Question: What function does the "Dump on - Dump Off" switch do?
When moved, nothing seems to happen.
Thanks:
Paul

I had something similar on a 2000 Pace Arrow but mine said Pump On and Pump Off. It was for the demand pump. I don't know if that is the case here but worth checking. If you were not running water when you flip the switch or were hooked up to city water you might not notice.

You probably hit the nail on the head. From the 2009 Mandalay owner's manual page 10-2

Place the pump control switch to the ON position. There are two water pump switches - one in the systems compartment and the second is located in the bathroom. Both switches must be ON for the water pump to operate.

The manual can be found on the Thor Document Archives

I'll take your word for it, but it makes no sense to me why the fresh water pump would be labeled "Dump", and not "Pump".

I was just guessing, but I would have thought it might be something like a macerator sewage dump pump
or perhaps one of those two tank set-ups where one tank has a macerator pump that transfers to the other tank for gravity dumping.

Why not flip the switch and see what happens?

In his post Paul mentioned that when he turns the switch on nothing happens.

My WAG is the switch is mislabeled and the switch must be on and then the switch in the bathroom must be turned on for the water pump to operate.

I also thought of the sewage pump angle as well but the owners manual does not mention having to turn on any switches to dump grey or black tanks.

Again, this is a WAG on my part but it would only take a minute or two to verify.

Dump Station switch

Thanks to all.
The coach has three 12 VDC water pump switches, one in head, one in galley and one in dump station. Turning any one switch on activates the water pump - no combination required as per the manual.
Also, my manual has a diagram/picture of the dump station which is not what is on the coach. My station has a "Dump On / Dump Off" switch (see original posted picture).
There is also a Sani-T hose fitting to allow water pressure to help clean the black tank (not Sani-Con with a seperate external pump).
The manual does not mention the Dump Switch so if no definite info comes, guess I will just have to take it apart?
Paul.
