Hi, everyone! I am a new member of the forum. I joined because my wife and I are considering a Vegas 24.1 “RUV”.

My aife and I are 70 and retired and we owned a 2004 Newmar Dutchstar for 14 years and drove that beauty 99,000 miles through 34 states and much of Canada. We sold it two years ago as it was getting to be too much work to drive and care for.

Not surprisingly we miss RV’ing (especially taking our Miniature Schnauzer) and are thinking about downsizing. We would prefer not towing a car, at least on most trips.

We love the Leisure Travel Unity TB but are not sure we need to spend that much at this stage of our life. Most trips would be 3-4 days with an occaissional 7-14 day jaunt.

The Thor 24.1 has caught my eye as a possible choice. We understand that it is no Dutch Star in quality. But if it drives well, is reliable, and meets out needs it might make sense.

I’ll be asking some questions in the various forums after I mine them for information. In the meantime, any advice from Thor veterans is welcome.

Jim

Hi!

Welcome to the forum. Are you going to be driving your motorhome around Alaska?

Definitely not. Virtually all of our driving will be in the center of the country on primarily flat ground.

Your profile indicates you are from Alaska but assuming that is in error welcome to the forum from a fellow resident of St. Peter’s MO.

I fixed that. We live in suburban St. Louis.
