New Thor owner

Hello there

We are new 2019 Thor 29m motorhome owners. We are not new to motor homes or 5th wheel trailers but am new to Thor products. I see a lot of issues with the Thor products and hope I did not make a mistake in purchasing this product brand.

I realize every brand has its issues and there are a lot of moving parts in a motorhome. I only hope mine was built on a Wednesday and not on Monday or Friday

Congratulations and welcome!
29M is a nice RV and floorplan. Dont stress about stuff that hasn't happened or might go wrong, focus on the fun you're going to have and what could go right!
You are correct that there is a lot of bad out there but it should help to keep it in perspective when you factor in that there are more Thors out there and the people most likely to post stuff are those with something to complain about (vocal minority, like in politics)
I've had my share of problems and complaints too and while occasionally frustrated by some design, quality or service issue, overall we are happy and always look forward to our next trip!

Welcome Aboard !

If you read the "Letters To The Editor" in your local newspaper (if you still have such a thing) you've undoubtedly noticed that 95% + of the letters are complaining about one thing or another; there's seldom the type of letter I call "attaboys". Pretty much the same thing applies in forums such as this one.

Take the time to explore your new rig, read the manuals, and drop in here to browse or ask questions.

You'll find that most of the complainers do not know, and just refuse to learn the difference between:
Ford
Thor
Third party equipment manufacturers
Pilot from Shell
Boondockers Welcome(look this up) from a national park rv site.
A one year warranty from three years after the fact.
Campers World workers from a Nascar pit crew.
The importance of their poor choice to not have paid attention during the predelivery inspection.

Loud and indignant and self-justified and entitled.
No, really.

Enjoy your new toy, ask lots of questions. We'll do our best to counter the bad stuff you read.

I'm glad they didn't get a chance to scare you away.

We love the floorplan of our 29M. It is a great couples coach and we have made many new memories. We have had to repair drawer latches, water leaks in the pipes, loose wires in the electrics, kinks in propane hoses, loose connectors in the entertainment systems, I could go on but wont. Yes, we have had tons of quality issues with the build of our coach, but zero problems with the components used by Thor or the Ford chassis.

Here is me and my wife picking up our motorhome in Arizona. First trip was going to be Labor Day Weekend as I have 5 days off. Finding it hard to find reservations anywhere. Thanks for the warm welcome and looking forward to some great tips and an awesome experience.

Yes, reservations..... you are learning that you have to plan ahead with a RV. I am afraid that the days of just finding an out of the way spot to park with such a rig are fading. Do your planning for your outings and you'll be glad you did.

Nice coach and I suggest you load up and just hit the road. Stay at WalMart, truck stops or highway rest areas. You need to put some miles under your belt any way and start learning your new rig.

Congrats on the new coach. You are going to have issues, we have with ours but at the end of the day we chose ours for the floorplan. Been camping many years been to many RV shows and haven’t found one we liked as well or better then our Thor. We are now into year three and we have seemed to solved all our major problems now it’s just time for maintenance which I look as a great opportunity to upgrade. Have fun and be the fun while camping

Thumbs up

We had a 40 foot Weekend Warrior for 10 years and never had any issues with it whatsoever. I think with any motorhome regardless of brand or price there will be issues. There are so many moving parts something is bound to turn up. Its like you said, you just fix them and move on. It seems in life you are just renting your happiness one way or another.

We have a thor fe30. Been full ti.e for just over a year, 16k miles and have seen so many beautiful places. We love our "Homey". Have had some minor issues but nothing to sway us away from our new life!
Congrats and happy trails!
