New Owner of Thor 22FE

Hi all, after 3 years with our first RV, a Forest River 24’ Dynamax REV, we’re upgrading (we think) to a 2016 Thor 22FE. There were many things we didn’t like about the front wheel drive, RAM chassis. Looking forward to the Ford chassis and this will also be our first experience with a slider (to achieve a queen size bed). It also comes with 200 watts of solar installed.

I’d welcome any insights or advice or cautions folks have with this unit. I take possession Wednesday and it really is “like new” with brand new tires and 11000 miles. My only immediate thoughts for mods are lithium battery, a battery monitor, adding USB ports and it will need a new awning canopy in a year or 2.

Thanks, Jeff

Welcome

We have the same ride. Have owned it for about 18 months and put on 11,000 miles. Some changes: Soundproofing the cabin and doghouse, best $200 bucks spent yet! Replaced backup camera with a BOSS Installed rotation plate on the passenger's seat. My wife replaced cushion covers and drapes. We also got a new mattress. We've been using our E bikes for getting around but just purchased a jeep for flat towing. We have enjoyed the ride so far.

Thanks for the info. A couple of questions. What did you use for insulating your doghouse? What is the BOSS rotation…? A swivel for the seat?

Rv checklist app
And
Run the slides in and out until the batteries fail, then make them install new batteries.

Spend a night in it before signing docs.

Under what circumstances would you expect someone to allow you to stay in an RV before you buy it?

I know of none but the better RV dealers have water, electric hookups with a dump station. If everything doesn't work, just hang-out in the sales office until everything is fixed and be sure to chat-up all the customers.

I could have had I wanted to.
Anyone buying mine can.
OP did not say
Dealer.
No reason in the world for anyone with the buyers check in their hand to not say
Contigent.

I think the people who bought my toyhauler used it over night.
All my boats I've sold got a day on the water with me prior to purchase.

I spent the night with the tbird before I bought it.

100mile test drive for our Pacifica.

Take. Command. Of. The. Situation. So. As. To. Suit. YOU.

If they say no, the answer to that is;
What should I think about that?
(Then the next one to talk loses)

If it's uncommon, it seems pretty odd someone would buy
A pig in a poke.

But
We have read some incredibly stupid people tell purchase stories a six year old would be embarrassed by.
