Angry Window issue

Hey fellow rvers
We have a 2017 Challenger 37lx and on its maiden voyage a window falls out while stopped in traffic in Manitou Springs, CO. Paint was damaged and Thor doesn't want to pay to have it repaired. What do I do now, attorney up?

So, it still is under the one year warranty from Thor? Did they give you a reason why they would not make the repair under their warranty?

Be interested in knowing what justification they gave you for not honoring the claim.

I agree... was the rig still under warranty?
What reasoning did they give you?

Was that from Thor's mouth directly? Or from the dealer?

Call directly to Thor customer service yourself and talk to the source.

I spoke with Thor and was told they covered the window as a curiosity and determined the window was left open while in transit which it was not! It’s over $1600 to paint the side of the coach. My point to Thor was if it had not been for the window breaking off the side of the coach would not be damaged. Warranty gentleman said he would send it back for review! I’ll let you guys know how this turns out. Anyone else had their window disappear ? Warranty guy tells me that it’s not that uncommon!!!?

By "open while in transit" did they mean you had it open while driving -- or did they mean whoever drove it to the dealer from the factory had it open? I would ask them to show you in their manual where it says that windows designed to be opened should not be opened while driving. Also, if they meant in transit to the dealer from the factory ask them where it says YOU are responsible for any damage.

and maiden voyage means this was your first trip since buying it - right? and the window fell out. And there is still warranty coverage on their factory construction and installation right? I have well over a thousand posts on this forum and your post is the first one I've ever read saying a window fell out. Why is that not the fault of how the factory installed the window? And how did having it open cause it to fall out?

This whole thing does not pass the Dixie Bar and Grill common sense test.

I took the in transit to mean while I was driving the RV. Always and I mean always do a “walk around” before leaving on each stop. Window was now open while I was driving. The window broke where it is glued to the hinge. Thor covered the replacement of the window($1700) but won’t anti up on the paint that was damaged as a result of the window falling and hitting the side of the RV. All still under warranty. Bought the RV in May of this year. Have had many issues so far and I do mean many.
