It’s all working well

Just wondering how long it took everyone to finally get their Motorhome where everything and I mean everything is working like it should? We got our 2017 Challenger in June of 17. Actually purchased on May 4th but could not pick it up until June 9th because of it being in the shop for repairs to the chassis. As of December 19,2018 I can finally declare that she is 100 percent in working order ! Should be a Thor decal for that accomplishment! How about you guys?

We had ours 15 Months, and traded it in with a slide motor that was still misbehaving, And a San-T-Flush system that leaked water inside the rig.

Well it depends on what you call "working"? LOL

We've had ours 4 years now and from day one it was in pretty good shape and everything was working enough to camp in. Since then I've done a bunch of mods (some work, some don't) and other minor things have cropped up (two leaks one that required a trip to factory service).

In that time, however, no issue was severe enough that would prevent us from camping. In addition: some issues were caused by me trying to make the coach better .

Yeah, everything in my RV worked just fine from the dealership on day one. I just had a bunch of cosmetic things that need fixing or replacing. Most of them I did myself over time.

Its way to hard to get CW to do anything and when they did they would keep the RV for TWO weeks (one week to see what needs to be fixed and get Thor to approve it and another week to acually get it fixed 4 mo later).

After all of that and they killed my coach batteries for good and would not replace them or give credit and I only owned it for like 9 mo.

Agree...depends on what you mean by "working"

Just gut feel...I don't remember specific timelines since I've tried to block the dark moments from memory

I'd say most of it was worked out in the first year.... A couple major issues just after the year mark I think

but only two issues made it so we couldn't use the unit a while while it was in the shop a few weeks. Most of the other stuff I just took care of on the fly.

It seems like EVERY TIME we had it out for the first 2 years or so I had some little something to do while we were in the campground...a drawer slide to replace, or a latch to adjust, a missing screws to tighten, etc....

Sometimes it was little "upgrades" that weren't necessary...such as replacing the door glass with something I could see through, then tinting it because the tinted glass wasn't dark enough, hanging a paper towel holder, etc...

Actually now that I think about it i'd say that even now I am doing a little something either before or during a majority of the trips...but mostly it's little mods and 'upgrades' now, or little normal repair items.

Sorry to rain on your parade, but 100 percent isn't likely to last long. I think most would agree with me that repairs and modifications NEVER END! (That's part of the fun!)

Well technically a modification wouldn't change the "everything is working 100 percent"; e.g. you make a mod even if its working 100% because you want it working 110%

Bought my Hurricane in May and something broke or required attention on every trip for the first six months. On my last trip in November, every thing worked and no new defects were noticed. That being said, no defects kept us from using the rig.

All good here too. Had a few issues...let them build up over 6 months and went to factory for service this month to get repairs made. All well now. I'very always said...buy them a year in advance, work out the bugs, then hit the road for the long hauls. Couldn't be happier with my Thor...great coach!

Our Hurricane came with everything working, thanks to the dealer's (MHSRV) detailed PDI. After about a year, a few of the patio awning LED went out. Thor MC sent me the replacement string and I had a Jayco dealer (Youngblood's RV) install them. Thor MC reimbursed me for the dealer's work. As of this morning, everything is still working after three years and 27,000 miles and 279 nights in the coach.

Your right about the fact that something always needs to be repaired or maintained! I’m just glad I don’t have to fix something every time I use the darn thing!

Yeah, same here. Either something breaks cause everything is plastic, the road vibrates it to death or it just gives out. You will eventually fix it but there is ALWAYS maintainence. Get use to it and enjoy while your willing to do the "Heavy Lifting"----LOL

Two things in our coach change one way or the other, after almost every trip. The furnace fan rattles and the Sani-flush check valve sounds like a bugle. The last time driving it around the block cured both of them. [emoji2957]

I imagine you have experienced most problems, or error codes, you have had to decipher and educate yourself on what you need to do over such a long time.

Me, I am still learning, been at the driving camper 6-7 months now, or should I say, three times out.
Thankfully I found these forums pages and I even read about fixes to problems I have not had yet.
So much to learn.
And when something does go wrong, I have learned, get the manuals out and look there first.

Motorhomes are always problematic, mainly because of their complexity and the constant pounding they get on our wonderful highways. With a new one, you can pretty much count on being in and out of the shop for the first year, maybe two, depending. My former DP took a full two years of attention to get it recovered from the manufacturing process. The current Gemini was straightened out after the first year.

Mechanically ours has been 100 percent from day one. Cosmetically took about 15 months and after nearly two years we are starting to see serious paint damage.

There has only been one issue to prevent us from using it, a kitchen window broken by a landscaper which took nearly 8 weeks to get parts.

I wish, sort of. I haven’t experienced error codes. I have had:

• awning that won’t retract
• obstruction in gray tank
• many blown fuses
• water leaks
• various external parts fall off
• Jeep disconnected from RV while driving!
• fresh tank wouldn’t fill
• new batteries fail
• generator wouldn’t run
• spider infestation

I’m sure there’s been more that I’m not recalling off the top of my head.

How did the Jeep disconnect from the RV while driving? That one's really disturbing.
