2014 Thor Citation 24SR

I just purchased a 2014 Thor Citation 24SR. It's very hard to find any reviews on the Mecedes turbo diesel V6 that powers the Sprinter chassis. Anyone have any comments about reliability and maintenance costs? Thanks!

We have the exact same model, but ours is a 2013...

Our Desiel engine runs great. We bought it used in August 2016 with 6k miles. We now have over 33k miles. We average around 15mpg not going over 65mph. We live in KC metro area on the Kansas side and have taken trips to Arizona, Michigan and Texas with numerous stops along the way.

Our only engine issue has been with the DEF sensor that went bad while in Wisconsin. Stopped in approved MB repair shop and got reimbursed on whole bill by MB as it was still under warranty.

We get oil changed every year needed or not after taking the MH out of underground storage for $125 at MB dealership.

Have a 24st on a trip now towing a Honda. Averaging 15.5 pretty darn good. No additive needed unless your going to extreme cold. 👍

There is a Yahoo group that consists primarily of Winnabego RV'ss on the Mercedes Sprinter chassis. That group is well-represented by owners with a broad range of experience and they aare not bashful about answering questions - even from Thor owners. [emoji604]

Just went over 10K with our 2017 24SR on our 8 week Florida trip. Zero issues with the Sprinter, pulls great, drives like a car. 15-17 pulling a Honda depending on speed.

My 2011 has 50k The previous owner kept meticulous note. Shows no engine problems at all. He did every A Service and B service . You'll save a lot of money if you change you filters yourself. MB charges $85 to change the cabin air filter. The only issue he had was a tie rod end changed when they put on new tires.
