THOR #13058
2019 29M Windsport / Hurricane Exact Measurements

This may sound simple, but it is very complex and hard for me to get a straight answer from Thor.

Fact: According to Thor's specs they say the 29M is 30' 8"

However they can't seem to agree or know if that length includes the ladder or not?

I don't have access to a real one to measure myself.

I had a dealer 1,000 miles a way go out an measure and he sent me the below.
The Hurricane measures 30 feet 11 inches to the ladder and 30 feet 4 inches to the hitch. So if you took the ladder off you would be looking at 30 feet 4 inches
.

I have a 30' 5" limitation in my driveway as it exist today. I am trying to see if I can make this work without any modifications to house / fence. If modifications are required I need to know...

Length of coach with ladder?
Length of coach without ladder?
Distance from the right side of ladder to the right corner edge (rear passenger side)?
Width of ladder itself?

Any help or measurement will do.

If the coach meets all your other needs/wants I'm not sure I would worry about hanging over a few inches.

I prolly should have put why in the original post. It is kind of complicated but trust me it is dealbreaker.

Short answer
If I buy RV I ABSOLUTELY MUST 100% be able to park in my driveway. I plan to leave it there, but may occasionally store someplace else for a month or so. The 29M most likely will not fit.

Long answer
Our first attempt to buy a RV was the ACE 29.3. That is when I joined this forum. It had some issues and I was advised to run from that coach and I did. It was 29' 9" . Then we fell in love with Hurricane, willing to pay more. With the stated measurement of THor being 30' 8" we just ignored the 29M and went to the 27B. We actually tried to buy a 27B at 29'3" but couldn't work out the details with dealer on PDI stuff. We walked. With no more Thors's for us we go to Winnebago 29VE at 30' 3" It fits perfectly but about $10k more than what we planned to spend. So while I am sitting here hoping some falls in our laps we see a great deal on a new 29M Hurricane. It is a 1000 mile away. I am trying now to see what the measurements really are to see if it is anyway for me to park in my driveway on it's own improved concrete pad. The ladder when backed up may hit the eave over side of garaged while front may protrude in alley way? It would be bummer for me to have my own RV and not be able to keep at my house legally.

FWIW, our alley way is used by City sanitation trucks, and school buses so extended in alley way may get me reported. I would want to get hit anyway.

I just got call from Thor

Length of coach with ladder? 31' 10"
Length of coach without ladder? 30' 8"
Distance from the right side of ladder to the right corner edge (rear passenger side)? 19"
Width of ladder itself? N/A

Slide Extension? 25"

That means coach is almost 32' long which is way too long for our application. It just seems no matter I try a Thor doesn't fit.
