ACE Bathroom Doorknob
Not sure if this applies to any other Thor coaches, but on my 30.2, the bathroom doorknob doesn’t lock. It appears to be made differently (with smaller dimensions) than a standard household doorknob, and replacing it with one from Lowe’s doesn’t appear to be an option. Just curious if anyone has changed theirs out, and if so, what did you use? As an aside, because of this non-locking doorknob, I’m pretty sure my 13 year old daughter is scarred for life. She did learn the value of “knocking” in the RV tho...

Couldn't you just add one of those sliding bolt catches to the inside of the door?

Bob, I had given that a thought, but the way the door and door facing is angled in my 30.2, it would look weird and more importantly be easy to tear off the facing. There’s just not a lot to mount it to.

My ACE bathroom door has a lock on it. Looks like a standard interior door doorknob to me.

My Miramar didn't have a lock, I changed it out with a standard lock door knob. I also thought it wouldn't fit, just the way it looked, but the fit was just fine.

Mobile home parts suppliers may have something as they are built different than B&M homes, as in thinner doors, smaller hardware, etc. I've never been a fan of locking doors within the immediate family. If someone fell, the extra time trying to get the door open may make a big difference in the outcome. If you don't respect a closed door...you can bathe with the water hose out front and poop in the woods for a couple days. Cardinal Sin!!!

Geez, sorry man. But to answer your question, yes I asked that question because I overlooked your profile information. A question usually has a question mark at the end of it - which mine did. So yes, I asked that question.

Don't worry about missing that bit of info: a lot of folks don't necessarily read the info contained under our screen names.

I never thought of checking with a mobile home place, that’s a great idea! Also, the bathroom in the 30.2 has a rear entry from the bedroom, so it wouldn’t be much of a problem to get in if an emergency arose. The main reason I would like to be able to lock it is so that the entire living room isn’t suddenly exposed to someone doing their business! Lol
