Acme EZE-Tow Tow Dolly

Looking for opinions/comments on the Acme EZE-Tow Tow Dolly.

We have a small toad, Chevy Sonic HB, that is able to be flat towed but we don't feel comfortable with the extensive mods that need to be made to the vehicle.

Any first hand reviews appreciated! Thanks!

Make sure the Chevy Sonic can be dolly towed first. Not many vehicles can be both flat towed AND dolly towed without issues.

If it's front wheel drive, I'm sure it is, dolly towing should be no problem. Just don't set the emergency brake, it's connected to the rear wheels.

Thanks for all the info. May I ask what year and model Sonic you have?

I have the Acme, tow a Kia Soul. Easy to use dolly, I have to keep the rear camera on as I really don't know it's back there. Jerry

acme tow dolly

I bought one last year to tow a kia soul. works great except the oil bath wheel bearings keep leaking. I called Dexter axle who warranty's it , and had them send me the easy iube hubs instead of the oil bath hubs. they covered it under warranty and they work great.

I have a Chevy HHR, manual clearly says can be flat towed, can not be dolly towed.

RVSquared, not sure exactly what your discomfort is with the required modifications required. Once done, you don't even have to think about it again, unlike the dolly which will be that extra trailer to deal with at every hookup, disconnect, and will have to be put somewhere while you are at your campsite.

Yeah, but many people dolly tow them anyway. Chevy even "allowed" it in 2009 and later.

I used an EZ tow dolly to pull an equinox to Iowa this summer, and then went to the factory and picked up one for myself. We took our Uplander van to Tenn. with us in Sept. and had no problems. It seems to be a well built dolly.

We use an EZ-Tow as well. Pull both our cars (Ford Escape and C-Max). Have had no issues with it at all.

Have had it at least two years now. Pulling for at least 2000 miles.

We had the ACME tow dolly. I loved that you could store it up-right. It took very little room in the garage. It's easy to use, but my only complaint was that I wished it had a some kind of wheel pan for the front wheel to sit in and make it easier to tie down. We did tow a Kia Soul that way, but have since traded that in for a Ford Focus and now flat tow. It does make life easier.

Thanks! We are really leaning towards the Acme Tow Dolly.

We would rather flat tow, but just have too many concerns about finding a capable company/person to make the vehicle mods.

Thanks, sounds like it can easily handle vehicles larger than ours!

Concern is fear of our car being damaged in the process of the mods. Only two companies in our area that can do the install and no warm-fuzzy with either, unfortunately.
