Any AXIS/VEGAS owners with XM/SIRIUS satelite radio?

Getting ready to put a SIRIUS/XM ONYX radio in our VEGAS. Ok, I admit it, I can live without a lot of things, but hooked on satellite radio when on the road, plus I already have the ONYX radio..

If any of you have installed a satellite radio in your coach, where had you placed the antenna?

I am thinking just installing it on the dash (taking advantage of all that glass in the front) but, thought I would ask from everyone who has already accomplished the install and what you guys did...

Actually placing the radio on the removable plastic cover on top of the radio, since the audio and power feed should be simple, but wanted to check on the antenna placement before I started.

I was thinking of going that route but decided to get a subscription that I could use on my cell phone. I then listen to Sirrus on my Vegas radio via Bluetooth.

In my Challenger I put the antenna on the dash against the windshield. It works fine.

Thanks for the info, Dave. I was hoping that would be the case.

On my ACE 27.1, I just layed the antenna down on the right front corner of the dash. ONYX radio placed in useless cup holder (not anymore lol) Auxiliary hookup and bingo.

We have an ACE, but have installed an Onyx that we move between the RV and one of our cars. Not wanting to mess with hooking it up ourselves, we had it professionally installed. LOVE it. The dock is the little rectangle right above the radio. Looks like it's meant to be there.

That's exactly where we were planning on putting ours...with the radio underneath, it seems to be the perfect place

Just noticed, what is the device on top of the dash to the left of the XM radio?

That's the tire pressure monitor. It didn't sit very well there (kept sliding toward the windshield), so it sits in the little tray below the radio now.

We have a Thor 30 q and have tried the antennae on the dash but have not had too much success, hit and miss re signal, although I am not sure why given amount of glass. Will adjust a little and if it does not get better will mount on roof.

What kind of tire pressure monitor are you using? Are you happy with it?

We have this one:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Once we got it set up, which was a bit of a bear, we were happy with it. The sensors went on easily on the back tires, but our front ones wouldn't accommodate the length of the monitors. The company was VERY helpful, sending us a different style, and then walking us through programming all of them.

I can't emphasize enough how important it was to us to have what we considered basic safety features installed on our rig. The TPS and steering stabilizers were no-brainers for us, and we're glad we spent the money.

We were in Klamath, CA on vacation and met a couple that had another model ACE. They weren't happy with it, largely because of how sloppy the steering felt. We talked for quite a while, and by the time we were done I think they were going to have one installed as soon as they got home. I can't imagine driving some of the roads we did without it.

You wanted to know all of that, didn't you.

I put antenna on dash at first but worked only part of the time. Had to mount on the roof. Ran the wire thru passenger window/screen. Wrapped tape on antenna wire where it goes thru for added protection.(still able to close window/screen all the way). Ran wire along the outside of passenger window and up along that curve where front cap meets main body. Used clear silicone to keep in place....so far so good!

Sirius make an accessory window mount. The mount has a flat surface and with Velcro you can attach the antenna. Works 95% of the time.
