I kind of have to assume that this also means that you're not "very happy", or even "overjoyed".

What's up with yours?

We have owned a 2014 Vegas and 2016 Axis 24.1 for four years now and still love them. After over 40k miles, trips from FL to Alaska, Nova Scotia (twice) and Colorado/Utah we have lived in them for close to a year out if the four and we are still married. Have I had some issues - yes. Do I like Thor’s quality control - No. But when you look at what you paid vs what you get, I think it is a definite positive. However, I don’t know how you can own and maintain a large RV (or boat for that matter) unless you are comfortable doing much if the work on your own. My local RV repair shop is charging $150 per hour and $150 just to look at it. That adds up fast. And as many people have found, it is often difficult to even get your rig into a repair facility.

We just passed 15,000 miles, slept in Vegas for 10 days while burying Brother in law and relocating disabled sister in law to our 2nd home. We had bought with less than 2,000 miles on it.

Overall we are very happy. Is hard to beat overall value when it cost less than a new Chevy Suburban.

Issues remain minor. Currently repairing wiring to marker light caused by road debris. Took out fuse under steering wheel on return trip from SC. A few extra minutes to clear wire and replace fuse and we were on road again with tail lights.

Can we get any input, good or bad. Are we crazy even though we need more room?
We are not happy with our 2018 Thor chateau 31e Bunkhouse model. We've had multiple issues with this coach drawer bottoms falling out fans stopped working. Two major leaks the RV one in the shower leaking behind the wall that one happened within the first five months of owning the coach and the second one Just Happening a week ago at the kitchen sink. Fixing the kitchen sink I discovered some real shabby wiring done by the factory I'll try to attach a picture. I really don't think all these electrical connection should be laying across water lines under the sink like that.

Overall we are very happy with our Thor Ace 27.1. I've learned as with all new RVs, there's always something you're going to have to improve but once you get a few bugs out, you will enjoy your unit. Not sure what all the negative feedback would be. Great floor plan and plenty of room in a compact unit.

Not happy Thor owner

We purchased our 2018 chateau 31E Bunkhouse model in January we've had numerous issues with our coach. Started off with refrigerator issues then we had problems with the instant hot not creating hot water at the bathroom sink. We've had just about all the drawer bottoms fall out I had to rebuild the drawers myself. Also had to remount all the drawer slides because of the way they were installed from the factory with one screw on each bracket which made the drawers hard to pull out . We've had fan stopped working in the ceiling that had to be replaced. Had a major leak in the shower behind the wall that had to be replaced that happen within the first four months of owning the coach. We just had another leak in the kitchen the spicket started leaking which of course created another water issue under the sink. While fixing the sink I discovered some real shotty wiring that was done by the factory where are the electric lines are running over and through the water lines under the sink. Also had to have the generator removed and dropped off at a Cummins dealer because it stopped working within the first 60 hours. Also plywood that wasn't properly sealed and laminated under the camper.

We are very happy with our 2017 22 freedom elite. We bought it 7 months ago with 12000 miles and having a ball with it!

So far we are happy.
I have been disgruntled with certain things, but I find it to be from inexperience, like not knowing how to reset a leveling error.
Easier for someone to tell you what to do, vs, reading the book, lol!
My last one was the radio, and not knowing about the mode button, somehow got stuck on camera.
That is one thing I don't like, the darn radio controls (volume, etc) will not work when the camera is on screen, like turn signal on and wanting to turn down radio.
It is a learning experience, what to do, like cabinets opening on the road dispensing contents.
I am greatful for this site and the sharing from others experiences/remedies.

2018 Thor aria

I brought a new 2018 3901 Thor aria in May 2017. In just over a year it has been the shop over 300 days for repairs. After 3 times in the shop with the bedroom slid burning up the motors and spending $1000.00 dollars to fix it at the dealer. I have been told the slide was put in wrong at the factory and would Cost me thousands more to fix it. I called the factory and was told they could less. The coach was 7 months out of warranty and even if it had been worked on three times already for the same problem And once at the factory I should pay for the repairs and not buy Thor TVs.

Check out the Hurricane or Windsport. Basically the same but different exterior and interior colors. We have a 2018 Windsport 29m and love it. I have talked with Ace owners and not found one yet that didn't have many issues. You'll like the 29m or even larger coach's. 3 to 5 more in length is worth it!!!!

We were looking at a New 2019 THOR - MIRAMAR 37.2 with 3 slides. MSRP = $194,199 got the dealer down to $142,200. I joined this forum today and I have to say I going to hold off on purchasing a Thor. I am concerned over all of the slide issues and how long it takes to get service work.

Thor Hold Out

George,

I understand your concern and honestly, I would share the same level of concern if I read many of the posts in this forum. I would also suggest you read posts on the other brands that have forums and compare. My guess is that there are many similarities. I would also say just as I have read in past posts that unless you can do some tinkering on your own, you would be frustrated no matter which brand you would purchase.

How many coaches did Thor sell in the last year?
How many horror stories did you read about here in the last year?
Take the second number and divide by the first number then multiply by 100: That's the percentage of horror stories per coach sold by Thor. I bet it's in the dingle digit or less percent wise.

I agree...
You also have to keep in mind that some folks simply like to complain about anything and everything. Issues will become over-inflated, trials and tribulations will become to much worse, and calls for the Be-heading of someone in power become louder...
Learn to ignore them: they wouldn't be happy, if you hung them with a brand-new rope!

I was concerned too...

Although relatively new here myself, I want to share my experience.
About 9 months ago we started looking for a class C Motor home....
I thought I did my due diligence ....and then purchased a 2017 Thor freedom elite with 12000 miles on it.
Only after that did I find this forum. After reading some of these threads I seriously considered self ordered mental health counseling......
Then I realized maybe I was just lucky as my rig has been and remains great....
The family experiences and memories so far have been outstanding.....we are very happy we didn't listen only to negatives ....
Just as an FYI... I went to 2 forums focused on the very high end rigs-
I certainly didn't find " total satisfaction " unanimous responses and opinions.
