Leaky Kitchen Faucet

I own a Thor Windsport 29M. The kitchen faucet started to leak at the base of the faucet and counter top. After spending hours, I finally was able to loosen the brass nut under the sink. An unbelievable awkward location and design. I was able to pull up the faucet slightly, but I see the metal hoses going straight through the button of the faucet with no apparent way to tighten those fittings. Does this mean purchasing a new faucet or can one actually tighten the fittings inside the faucet base. Thank you for your help. Not exactly the July 4th project I wanted to address today.
