THOR #13283
USA to UK

Hi,
In the market to bring over a Thor motor home to the UK, I'm leaning towards the Vegas or Axis over an ACE because of smaller width, but whats the difference between the Vegas and Axis, on paper they look the same. Do these motor homes come with stabilizing jacks as standard?

Not sure if either one have Jack's. My 2017 Axis 25.2 did not. I'd go with the Account if at all possible. If you like the windshield, I did not, bought a 2018 Winds port 29m, that is a great floorplan. The slide outs and storage, dinette and couch or in our case the replacement twin recliners, you'll be happy with more than less room!!!

Glad it was a typo, I was googling a Thor Account!
Why did you go for the Axis over an ACE, you say 2017, did yours come with the Euro style cabinets? If no jacks did you get much sway when wind got up. I took to the Vegas/Axis over the ACE just on looks/style and dimensions, as far as I could tell the spec regards engine, interior etc.. was pretty much equal?

Not completely against the ACE, my pal here has one and its a good unit but the narrower width of the Vegas/Axis will help a bunch on UK roads, especially non-highway roads. Couldn't go longer than the 27' models on either Vegas/Axis/ACE because of limitations to park up on my property.

The 27.7 and the 25.6 Axis/Vegas have them as standard. The other models are option.

Check on the "Features" at Thormotorcoach.com

They are NOT levelers.... only stabilizers and are in the rear only.

Stabilizers were new for 2018 models. So older models wont have it from factory.

My wife and I almost bought the new Thor Freedom Traveler. It's 27 ' has akitchen and a bedroom slide out, 19.5" tires, the generator is at the front and not in the back at the damn bedroom and has a great shower with a real door, not pocket. We would have got it except it has a queen bed, not a king like our Windsport. With slides out it is huge but the lenght is right for you and not sure about width. Be warned. You go too small and like me you'll be getting another before nine months like us with the Axis. Look at the FT. It's bad ass!!!!

Yep I agree the Freedom Traveler (I think it a Camping World exclusive) is a good bang for the buck. But it at 99 inch wide VS the 94 inch Axis/Vegas RV.

I like the longer 27.7 Axis/Vegas floor plan but it has about half the outside storage space that I have. I like my storage space to much. I have room to grow and I dont have to triple stack everything so stuff is easy to find and mover around inside the compartments.

My 25.4 has 70 cu feet and the 27.7 has only 36 cu feet. (They discontinued my floor plan).

There is another forum member in your part of the world (Ireland I think). He has already been through two Axis/Vegas units.

Good luck on your search and welcome to the forums.

The AXIS and ACE are the same except colors and decor. The Head Light orientation is the only physical difference.

Welcome! You can add stabilizing jacks to any of these units as aftermarket. We did this with our Vegas 25.2 before we took delivery. At least one forum member did their own install.
Vegas and Axis are twins, the only difference is in color schemes and fabrics. Your choice will likely come down to which one gives you the best deal. Good luck with your search!

Axis and Vegas are the same (built on the E-Series chassis). The ACE is bigger built on the F-53 chassis.

It must have been an "Out of body" (or even an "Out of RV") experience!
