Another trip done

Howdy all. Just completed another big trip out west, 6,500 miles. Highlights of the trip included Mt Rushmore area, Yellowstone and Moab, UT. While in Moab we rented a two person UTV and did some fantastic off road riding in the Canyon lands area. Overall the Ace performed well. It did suffer a little wall separation near the dinette area after hitting a massive pot hole. I thought I was going to have to turn around to look for my dental fillings. I can't believe how bad the state of disrepair is on some of our roads. The only other minor issue we had was at our last stopover when the water pump check valve reared its ugly head causing our fresh water tank to fill from the outside water supply. All in all a good trip.

Glad to hear of so much fun!

We had a similar rough road incident this spring near St. Louis on I-44 just prior to where it was merging to go across the Mississippi River and there was all kinds of road construction... we almost got smacked by a merging dump truck while the temp roadway canted from sloping left to sloping right (and right into the merging truck) very abruptly. I thought our dashboard was going to get stuck to the bottom of the front bunk! The twisting forces were really bad...

Once we stopped later on, we did an inspection and tightened up several bolts and screws that were jarred loose. All in all, probably the scariest ride short of being in an accident that I can remember.

Glad you had a successful trip. To paraphrase an ol' Navy saying: The worse trip is better than no trip at all."

Have a great summer.

I started a very thorough log when we purchased. Haven't gone far ebough to log any hair raising trips yet. Do you guys keep a log you could share as far as routing through these places and where you camped, etc? Might be an interesting new thread going forward.
