We'll be fine... It just means getting a couple of extra dogs up on the bed with us!

LOL
C x 9/5 + 32 = F

So, like +60° F?

A good friend of mine lives in Imlay City and delivers mail in Lake Orion...they gave them 2 days off....first time in history for her 22 years of walking the route.

Yeah no mail for us yesterday and today as well.

There was a fire yesterday at a local natural gas pumping station so now one of the utilities is telling everyone to turn their thermostats down to 65F so they don't use up all the reserves while they fix it (source).

We had eleven below at the house (at 6:00AM)
But it was fifteen below out in Liberty, NY at 7:00AM.
(... early Doctor's appointment...)

They can sound scary; but if you dress for them: you can be as toasty as a marshmallow at a Summer Campfire...

We've spent lots of time on our snowmobiles in -20 degree weather. When you're running WFO on a lake: the windchill can easily get down to -70...
We were never cold.

In cycling it can be the opposite because riders may have very little protection, and can certainly tell the difference if you pedal at lower speeds up a mountain in cold weather where you may not even feel how cold it is because of the physical effort to generate power, but then descending at high speeds and no power can get very uncomfortable.

Yeah, I think wind chill was meant to be used as an equivalent temperature on exposed skin, and doesn’t mean much when you have a bunch of insulation covering you up, or are inside a building, etc...

Exactly! It's only an equivalent of how fast bare skin will shed heat...
So if you dress properly for the weather: it's never a problem.

I never watch the weather channel anymore. We had a hurricane pass by when we lived in St Augustine. My wife and I were walking the board walk in shorts and t shirt on the ocean and watched Jim Cantori all decked out in his rubber rain suit and hat faking wind and rough waves about 10 yards from us. They put him in a corner of 2 concrete seawalls where the waves always splash onto the top of the wall to make it look really bad. Lots of people were on the sides laughing at him.

I saw "Drama Jim" live in Panama City Beach a few years ago, as a tropical storm was approaching. The only thing he could find as a backdrop was a lifeguard stand laying on it's side. He and his "goober crew" headed out on the beach, he starts swaying back and forth as they start filming...he is an idiot and he knows it...they pay him well to look stupid!! They did the same thing with Tiny Tim. Fake News at it's best!!

But you've got to admit: it's a cool gig!
You can be wrong about half the time, and nobody says a thing about it!

So now we are predicted 43 for Sunday. This is a 71 degree shift from this past Wednesday. Crazy. I will take the opportunity of warmer weather to remove my basketball backboard and hoop to make room for our new to us RV to park in driveway.

Please don't use up all of the warm weather, before we get a crack at it!

Got to around 10 degrees in Nashville, and stayed sub-freezing for about 2.5 days. Full-timing in the RV, it was a bit chilly. Kept both space heaters going 24/7 and had the furnace set at 62 just to keep a base level. It didn't come on too much. Hung some blankets from the raised bunk to section off the driver area, because that's just a huge source of cold air. Had already used the foil/bubblewrap stuff on the kids' bunks to insulate that a bit, because the condensation on the inside was wetting everything (mildew bedding... yuck!). Got the warmed hose and spigot wrap all in place, and all my plumbing is behind a door, so that stayed good.

The one freeze issue we actually had was the water lines in the full-wall slide (washer and fridge ice) were poking out of the bottom of the slide a bit, and those froze up, making the constant laundry game a bit tough till it thawed out yesterday. Have to spend a bit of time trying to get those squared away. I don't think they've ever been right, as the little canvas/velcro bag they're supposed to be secured in is just kinda flopping around, and one of the hoses is almost wedged under the slide. It's not getting pinched or anything, but I can't seem to move it into the hollow and that sack. But hey, nothing burst, and we're pretty happy about that!
