Suppose to break many records. I'm way down south and just re-winterized the sled. Thought we had all the cold weather we were gonna get. Not so...but you guys up there...horrible cold.

Looks we're scheduled to get down to low 20s Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights here in Coastal NC. But that's no where as low as you guys will get.

Say warm!

Florida panhandle in the low to mid 20s the next few nights. Even that can cause a little shrinkage. Of course, I'm speaking of tire pressure.

Oh, forecast lows in the lower 40's in central Florida. Better dig out a sweater!

We've had enough frigid temps and snow to last us the rest of our lives. When we think it's chilly here, we check the temps up north!

-24 w/ wind chills of -50 here in NW Iowa for tonight & tomorrow night. Schools & colleges already closed for the next two days.

Usually we're somewhere south at this time of year, but health issues have kept us at home. Hoping to escape by the end of February for an abbreviated winter get-away.

Embarrassingly, here in the Big ATL it's 48 degrees right now and forecasts are for colder temps moving in but the moisture and the cold air are not going to meet. They've been forecasting this for 3 days, yet we have schools closing, municipalities delaying employees coming in til after 10 and they're out there all night last night spraying "brine" on all the streets. Please know we are not all Drama Queens!! After the huge ice storm we had 5 years ago, they spent millions on equipment and huge barns of salt mixtures and feel they must use them to justify the efforts. What a joke and how embarrassing for the realists here. If any of you saw the "weather guy" during the recent hurricane in The Carolinas swaying back and forth as he barely could keep his balance....as two guys in shorts walked by behind him texting on their phones as they walked down the streets...well...it's just that dramatic here. All who wonder are not lost!

We just got to Ruskin Fl. I’m loving it! I want to tell the Kids back in Michigan how nice it is here, but I feel sorry for them. Snow can be a lot of fun, but not so much at sub zero temps.

Low of 48 F in South Florida is a non event even for us. On plus side it gave us a chance to test electric heat for a while which sometimes doesn’t get used for years.

Conditions up north sound dangerous, please be safe.

Hope y'all are staying warm and safe!
I was vacationing up there once in February, average 14° F.
Saw Garrison Keillor at the Fitzgerald Theater, went searching for Lake Wobegone, and saw 3/4 ton trucks parked on Lake Itaska with their ice fishing huts.
I thought that was really wild, and walked across the Mississippi River on the stones, at its roots!

I've never put a lot of focus on the windchill numbers...
They can sound scary; but if you dress for them: you can be as toasty as a marshmallow at a Summer Campfire...

We've spent lots of time on our snowmobiles in -20 degree weather. When you're running WFO on a lake: the windchill can easily get down to -70...
We were never cold.

Wind Chill is nothing but "polish" for the media. They take whatever path they can to make things sound worse (as in the video above). Don't get me wrong...I lived in North Dakota for 3 years and know what a 30 MPH wind can do to a 5 degree day...but it's mostly hype. Cold is Cold!!
