Boon docking truck stop

Anyone boon dock at a truck stop. We're headed to TX from ME. Campgrounds are closed for season on our route.

Download the Pilot truck stop app. Some Pilots have overnight parking. Also app called RV Parky is a great app. Shows if Cracker Barrel's and other places allow overnight. Check Ohio turnpike rest stops,. Some have RV parking.

I use Overnight Parking. It may cost a little. But definitely worth it.

OvernightRVParking.com and the corresponding app. It's $25 for a year subscription, extended when you file a useful updated report on a location. It is crowd sourced, and tells you more than just if a location allows. Has directed us to some worthy spots and away from some that were not so great.

We have stayed overnight at countless Wallys and Sammys, but rarely at truck stops. We have found the trucks coming and going all night annoying, and the reefers cycling on and off annoying, too. Hint: a small fan, run off our inverter helps cut some of the noise.

truck stops

i use truck stops often, sometimes hard to find a spot if it is late, also my backing up skills are not as good as they should be so some spots i just avoid. flying j is extra friendly to rv's, done road side rest area's and w-mart. yes semi's make a lot of noise but thats the fun of rv'ing

my experience is that RV's park in the car parking area, not where the trucks are....
We've done it a few times. A bit noisy and I don't relax all that well in any parking lot (even a quiet one), but it serves a purpose!

I use the all stay Walmart app. It will tell you which Walmart are rv friendly for overnight parking . It's nice to be able to get up and run in and pick up anything you need before you take off.

At 33' plus toad... I park in truck area. Turn on a 12v fan in bedroom and go to sleep

Do you have to check in with the truck stop, or do you just find a spot between two trucks?
Do most have a fee?
....just something I have wondered.

I've noticed the TA near my house has a lot of spaces blocked off with some sort of removable sign post. I suppose some sort of reservation system, or a preferred member program.

For truck stops I've just find a spot between two trucks... Without toad I just back in... with toad I typically stop somewhere along edge and walk around a bit to be sure I can get in/out without backing up. Sometimes ended up along edge. Other times found a pull through between trucks.
I've seen the 'blocked off' spots too - never asked...
I always go in and buy something - same as I do at Walmart, etc...

Rest areas I just pull into the truck area and find an open spot... They have always been set up for 'pull through' so never had an issue with/without toad.

While traveling we almost never use campgrounds. Flying J is our favorite, other truck stops, rest areas, and Walmart parking lots.
