For the pantry, no we did not try magnets.
Not sure what to do, there are a lot of good suggestions folks are sharing, so thanks much on that.

I had been thinking of two wood blocks, that one per side of the pantry, mounted on the cabinetry front, make it to accept a 3/8" dowel to cross gate the door.
But nothing in the works as of yet, getting lots of new ideas though, lol.

We have been using a pull tight strap, not a ratchet one, long end to the pantry handle, stretch it past the fridge front to the handle assist for getting up in or out at the door.
Pull it tight by pulling hooked at that handle by the living quarters door.
I am afraid over time, the hook will leave a wear mark in the wood on the pantry slide out face.
We don't use the pulling force directly at the pantry handle, afraid it could eventually pull that apart.

We put wood slats across the shelf openings in the pantry, had some tuna fish cans fall free while it was shut, and they interfered with the slide closing all the way.
Had to fish them out, as we did not know how it comes apart, and did not want to open a can of worms.

That is why I asked here on the forum.
Once winter storage, here at home, is over, I will have decided my route, and may do what one of y'all has done.

I use magnetic latches that I bought at Lowe’s

Most of our cabinet handles are paired. We picked up a bunch of childproofing gadgets at a big box hardware store. Basically a plastic U shaped piece with a slide on clasp. You have to squeeze two buttons to pull the clasp off. Loop the U shaped piece around two handles. We have used them three years with no problems what so ever. Just look for the child proofing stuff.
For a couple of drawers that wanted to slide, the same child proofing stuff had a drawer catch that allows the drawer to come out about two inches then you press a little finger out of the way to open the rest of the way.

In addition to using the clip locks shown above, we use non-skid shelf material. It's a rubber coated mesh that you place on the shelves (including in the fridge) that keeps items from sliding. For my pantry and dish cabinets we also use the child proof catches which allow the doors to open about 2 inches and then stops them. It becomes second nature to just stick my index finger in to push the tab out of the way to access! No fear of these opening and sending dishes or other items sailing across the RV!

that's what we do and never a problem since, we also use them in the fridge..

what I do is take the plastic bins to the fridge,and load up,.. then take the plastic bins to the pantry and load up, the rv is then loaded in minutes and when we come back..unloaded in minutes...everything that goes in the rv fridge is already cold, and the stuff in the cabinettes is fresh... we used to keep the rv stocked... but the vegas heat would cook everything

I have the same issue in our Palazzo. Been doing some thinking and research and believe we are going to try installing some push button latches. Has anyone else considered this type of latch? They are widely used in the marine industry.

It is a 2016 Thor Outlaw 29H.

Traveling down the road, and the way the whole coach rocks, depending on road, or other conditions, things in the cabinet, like cans of food, hit the cabinet door and fall out to the floor.
Even the pantry slide out has opened up so, that we now cinch it closed, lol.
We have used small bungies to hook between two different door handles.

The drawers are never an issue but, the cabinet doors feel like they should be strong enough until once on the road, low and behold.

We installed wood slats as bumpers on the inside of the opening and so far it seems to work.
We surely did not want to ugly it up screwing in eye hooks where needed.

Anyone else had to deal with this?
What did you do?[installed flat magnets with hole in center to screw in.

Get a bag of thick rubber bands if you are cheap like me. You can use the rubber straps you buy in the RV stores or you can make up a bunch of velcro straps for the doors. I've owned three different brands of RV and the doors coming loose is a common problem.

Things I use. Small baskets to put cans and the like in to keep them from moving around. Indoor/outdoor carpet on the shelves to keep the baskets and dishes from sliding. And best of all magnetic children safety latches on drawers - they stay shut until you use a magnet to unlatch them. I used Safety 1st 5-Piece Complete Magnetic Locking System

Yeah but you have to make sure you don't push the wrong button. I pushed the wrong button on the highway and my poor dear mother-in-law fell out onto the highway when the basement door popped open. I slammed on the brakes and pulled over but it was too late. She was already stopping truckers and telling them how to drive and what color their trucks should be. I ended up getting a ticket for blocking traffic.

Have had same issue in our Hurricane 31S & husband/Denis promptly suggested the easy fix of installing a child safety cabinet lock! Works like a charm, inexpensive & so easy to install! Ordered on Amazon & ensured got the screw-in version, not double-sided tape.
We really enjoy reading this forum for all the helpful hints, with thanks.

We use those rubber coated twisty things from Home Depot that are used to wrap up extension cords and hoses. $5/ pair. We just stick them thru the cabinet door handles and refrigerator doors and twist. Haven't had any issues with the single doors so we don't secure them.
