Cabinet doors coming open on the road.

I cannot seem to find any discussions on this.
What did you do?

We have gotten into our first driveable RV within the last six months.
It is a 2016 Thor Outlaw 29H.

Traveling down the road, and the way the whole coach rocks, depending on road, or other conditions, things in the cabinet, like cans of food, hit the cabinet door and fall out to the floor.
Even the pantry slide out has opened up so, that we now cinch it closed, lol.
We have used small bungies to hook between two different door handles.

The drawers are never an issue but, the cabinet doors feel like they should be strong enough until once on the road, low and behold.

We installed wood slats as bumpers on the inside of the opening and so far it seems to work.
We surely did not want to ugly it up screwing in eye hooks where needed.

Anyone else had to deal with this?
What did you do?

We use bars in most of our cabinets where things may move when driving. The same type you use in the refrigerator except we found some pretty brown ones.

Same as above. Also added extra cabinet latches to each. The small gas cylinders are not strong enough to keep doors closed against a load like cans and such.

We used strips of velcro to keep ours closed!
We never had a problem after that...

Did you put the Velcro between the mating surfaces?

We don't want to make it unsightly.

No: we wrapped it around the handles, and tied them to each other.
We figured that it's a whole lot less unsightly, than a bunch of dumped stuff on the floor...

On our old 5er I put velcro behind the drawer face. The only problem with it was that it worked too well--the drawers were very difficult to open LOL.

This is exactly what we do. Easy on, easy off. We do the same thing with our side-by-side residential fridge.

I installed roller catches on all of the doors that didn't already have them installed.

I found that a lot of the factory catches needed aligning and some TLC
I replaced a few bunch, added a few extra, etc...

For the pantry, I added a few extra catches...helped but didn't fix it totally
I had been planning on installing a slide bolt like you'd use on a door, to positively lock it but hadn't got around to it when the lovely roads in LA brought the thing out so hard that it broke loose of the slides and fell almost all the way out, leaning against the wall across the way.

I ended up making a stop at a lowes store while on the road
replaced one or two of the extra catches with some a bit stronger
and used some strips of hardwood lumber... that stuff they sell that's maybe 2 inches wide x 1/4 inch thick...or 1/2 inch thick
installed pieces at the top to close up the fore/aft gap between the cabinet stile and the pantry box...meant to lock the thing from rocking fore and aft till I could make a better repair.
Turned out that this added enough friction against opening and closing so that it holds in now! in fact it was too tight at first, so I borrowed some brown crayons form my daughter to color the wood surfaces for a better color match + some lubrication.
Intended to do a better job at home but have just left it. Can't be seen when closed and it works perfectly!

I did use a strong magnetic catch to hold our bathroom door closed (something like these (Amazon)).

Ding, ding, ding...good answer. I added one of these to our pantry. All other doors/cabinets have been working fine.

There's a whole lot of good suggestions popping up for this issue!

Used that for a long time, ten velcro strips, so ten zip tied strips in between my fingers to latch and unlatch. Then I found out that a bag of thick rubber bands attached to the other side works too. Then if you want it to look nice, get the rubber straps for sale and roll them over and over.

Just zip tie the long strap so you can grab it quick and put it away.

Besides adjusting the latches on the inside we have installed straps with snaps.

I had a pantry slide out and under warranty they tighter it up. Did you try magnets?

Cheap Fix is to get a bag of thick rubber bands and attach from handle to handle. They also sell small, medium and large rubber straps with plastic balls on the end instead of metal clips. First time I had this problem I was far from anything, but I had lots of velcro so I cut it to size, put a zip tie on the end to take off, split and screwed down the side that stays on the cabinet and that worked too.
