We really liked Maumee. Unfortunately we could only stay one night--just figured we'd take a short trek to see what its like. Next time, however, we will bring bikes ! LOL a lot of paths and trails (we walked a lot for the time we were there).

At the time we were there the "red tide" in Lake Erie was flaring up thus the beach was closed and that small inland lake was also closed. This meant fewer people in the park (yay I guess--if you like solitude) but there still was a lot of campers there.

There also was a group of boaters from Michigan camping at the boat docks for the weekend (used to do that kind of thing all the time growing up: my parents would take the boat somewhere in the lakes for the weekend--was a lot of fun).

Here's a pic of our rig this summer at the KOA at St. Marys, Montana, just outside the East entrance to Glacier National Park's Going to the Sun Road.

Lake City campground in Florida and it's 100* and counting. That's in the shade! The humidity is overwhelming. Nobody should have to live here.

Bobj73,

Nice Pictures. I have been thinking of getting a Drone. Any advice?
Rather than hi-jacking this thread, it may be an idea for a new Thread on this Forum. I think I'll run it up the flag pole and see who salutes it.

Thanks, I ended up going with the dji phantom 3 advanced.I've had fun getting pics and videos of our camp sites, but always ask the camp host and other campers around us first. So far most every one has interested in watching it fly. So no problems.

Sweetwater, TN KOA. Very nice campground. Tons of activities for kids. They have all you can eat pancake breakfast for $5. Cooked fresh and served hot by the owners. Stayed there Labor Day weekend and had a great time. Leveling was a challenge and has us planning on getting a leveling system installed.

We go to Lakeland, Florida for a couple weeks around 4th of July to visit family..(its a tradition) … people think we are crazy to make that trip...however...here in Kansas, we deal with the same temps or higher and humidity...so it is a trade off and we love being with family !!

We did the open top bus ride from the East gate of Glacier NP to the visitor center in the middle. Did that the day after we drove the entire Going to the Sun road with our car, and around the south border back to St Mary.

The east side has some great pull overs that the bus stopped at where we couldn't find a spot to park in our car. The east side has a wider road, but suffered a lot of fire a few years ago and isn't very picturesque. Saw a moose and a grizzly from the bus.

A memorable stop, but we found better scenery in the Canadian Rockies around Banff and in the Rockies around Boulder, Colorado. Scenic beauty that is hard to describe or capture with a camera. Highly recommended!

We are at the Twin Mountain KOA in New Hampshire now. Very nice park and great early colors, I was surprised but they have had a few weeks of really cool nights and the colors are a bit early.

That’s good to know. We are headed to NH from Nova Scotia in two weeks and I thought we might be a little early for the colors. Thanks.

Glacier is beautiful..but suffering from melting glacier mass …

We agree with you...we enjoy the beauty of the Rockies, etc...

but feel privileged that we have been able to travel to most of the U.S. and Canada (a bit) …
