Climate Controls

2015 Axis Climate controls are different than shown in Owners Manual. Appears to be one knob for Vent, Normal AC, Max AC PLUS but no knob to direct air flow to feet, head etc ? Also temperature control seemed to be cold or hot with no in between ???????????????

To the right of off position you can direct the air to your head/feet or just feet in the non a/c mode. Defrost is also on this same side of off position. The "vent" mode directs the air to your head; this is non a/c also. In the a/c normal and max position air is vented to head and feet. I've noticed on mine when I make a change to the temp adjustment (cold to hot or vice versa) there is a few seconds delay before the change in temp through the vents. I suppose it is due to the size of duct hose and/or length that causes the delay. Making slight adjustments seems to help.

Thank you - Now the wife & I can quite arguing. She kept wanting to adjust temp & I wanted flow direction changed. Now we will wait on AC temp change & adjust ducts.

Interesting: For those of you with newer units can you post a picture of your dash? Ours has the standard 3-knob Ford HVAC control: one knob for fan speed, one for "mode", and finally one for temp/mix. The modes are (from right to left): Defrost, heat/defrost, heat, off, vent, A/C and Max A/C.
On our long drive I noticed that there was really no "cold" setting: Even with the temp/mix set all the way to cold we'd still get warm air coming through (I'm sure thats because the intake ducts are being warmed by the engine).

That's the same controls but now I have been corrected - her problem was the Temp Control was either hot or cold with no in between

Not sure I can help you there as I've not encountered that. Perhaps some duct work not connected properly? I was just thinking you could have been adjusting the climate control from one extreme to the other and that's why I suggested slight adjustment and the wait time. Sorry.

Same controls we have as well. Our hot/cold mix when on anything with the A/C off only seems to go from warm to hot--I think it's because the intakes just get heated from the engine compartment.

Ours does not have that HDMI/USB panel at lower right--I'd guess you don't have the Jensen stereo.

I have our '17 Challenger in the driveway, going through it preparing for our FIRST outing with it tomorrow.

So I went to turn the dash AC off, and the knob felt loose. I turned it back, it came off. The plastic piece on the back is broken trying to search online for a new one (I really don't want to take her back to Camping World formthis), no luck.

It's the fan control, pictured on the left. Mine looks just like this setup. Any help on finding a part number or description would be much appreciated!

For a temporary fix, Radio Shack sells knobs of a higher quality than OE that use a set screw to fasten to the switch. Hope that helps.

Thanks, that's better than what I have now. I'll look at those.

Hi, did you have any luck finding a knob? We don't have a Radio Shack here and we need to replace the air flow knob that just fell apart

No, but I've been at a campground since yesterday. I checked Radio Shack online, the knob he referred to will not work on this. It's not on a rod sticking out, like knobs used to be. You're probably seeing that too.

Is it similar to the standard Ford climate or fan knobs? If so you may find one at an auto store, dealership or junk yard.

Since I just had to research the cab HVAC system for my Axis, I'll share a useful tidbit. It looks like (at least for the Axis) that most of the cab HVAC comes from a company called Evans Tempcon.

When I did a search for "evans tempcon knob", this is what I found:

https://www.comfortairgr.com/shop/te...pcon-rv218471/

I actually just used this website to order a connector to attach the hose for one of the vents to the plenum. Shipping was high, but it did get delivered promptly.

I'm assuming that Thor uses the same manufacturer for multiple product lines, so this might help. Sometimes, all it takes is finding the right keyword to search for!

I hope this helps.
