RV costing $100,000

My insurance through AAA is $435 for the year with $500 deductible. My RV is a 2013 Thor Palazzo. Cost is $100,000
Hope this helps.

Bob I said my insurance was $435. It’s $480.
I have my RV financed so it’s what the bank requires. It’s $100000/$100000/$300000.

That's great...
But there are Companies that specialize in these "niche-market" risks, and can actually do a MUCH better job with them for you...

Must be a lot of eggs. we've had State Farm for years on house and cars. When we got the motorhome 3 years ago I had them quote it with all the bundled discounts and it was ridiculous.

Went through Good Sam (National General) and as they were building the quote they asked if I towed a vehicle. Well, of course I do. They recommended putting it on the MH policy so that if there was an incident when towing I would only have to deal with a single deductible. Made sense to me so I said add it to the quote. Came out to be $531 per 6 months (6 months because of the car. whose idea was it to make auto insurance 6 months?). I just renewed for the next 6 months at $561.

Welcome to the forum!
Insurance costs are dependent upon so many factors, that you can't compare one risk to another.

Bates8590. Check American Family Insurance. They gave us a good deal for our 2015 Thor Vegas, but might be because all of our insurance need is thru them.

Coverage varies a LOT. State Farm quoted us coverage much like our cars have. Seems appropriate until you think about it and shop around. We went through Good Sam and have RV specific coverage that includes full replacement cost and content coverage. It was only a little more than State Farm’s basic. We paid $950 on our 2016 32 ft class A.

Our's is $60 a month with a $1000 deductible. But like I said I have Home owners and auto insurance thru them too.

The ONLY way to accurately tell if YOU are getting the best price and coverage for YOU is to price around, price around, price around.... it's hard, it takes time, but it's the ONLY way.

Someone with the exact same year/make/model of motorhome, at the same age, in seemingly the 'exact' same scenario as you, may have a premium 1/2 of yours, or may have a premium twice as much as yours.... don't go by what 'others' have, only go by what you find for yourself. I've seen it go both ways, even for my own motorhome insurance, as one insurer was twice as much as another, and still another insurance company was 1/2 as much as both of those!
As another Insurance agent with 43 years having my own agency I am seeing companies change their market direction (what they want to insure). Several of the companies I use are now putting length limits on what they will insure as new business and surcharging existing business. Thirty -five feet seems to be the ne magic number. Since 2016 my first carrier cancelled due to length. My second carrier I dropped due to rate increase of 35% due to a length surcharge. Now I am with my third carrier and I would like to stay with them. I currently am using Foremost.

Haven't posted in a while but have been reading and have a big Thank You! for this post. My premiums went up $700 annually when I renewed earlier this year. I called the insurance company and talked with their underwriters and they were not able to tell me why the 35% increase. No accidents or claims on the RV. I didn't have any time to do anything about it earlier but this thread and your post in particular motivated me to get off my derrière and seek out other quotes. Found a local agent agent who carried Foremost. 20 minutes later and with somewhat increased coverage I ended up saving $600 per year!

If we ever bump into each other I'm more than happy to buy you your favorite adult beverage.

41 years here...
They will also price their products in such a way as to "discourage" certain types and classes of risks...
They don't have to cancel you: they just have to "un-sell" you!
We also use Foremost.

Well... Safeco just sent me my renewal... 28% increase over last year for no claims/tickets/etc. Now over $1700. Paid under $1000 in 2016/2017.

Time to start shopping again...

2 years in insurance pricing is equal to about 7 real lifetimes.
You'll drive yourself crazy, if you spend time looking back at what you used to pay!

Well... I'm back to what I used to pay... actually $100 less than 2016/2017... lol
Moved to Progressive today - a minor change in Comprehensive deductible (From $100 to $500 for non-glass event - still $0 on glass) - maintained my Agreed Value and $900 annual premium reduction from the proposed SafeCo renewal.
Only the RV is with Progressive - so no multi-line discounts included.
