Differences between sisters: Vegas & Axis

Are the ONLY differences between the Axis & Vegas, the headlight assembly, grill & and color/ graphic offerings? And it looks like the Axis has model name on front, Vegas does not.

Those pretty much it for differences? (Images are of 2018s).

Yup that is it, just cosmetic differences so two dealers close to each other can sell the "same" coach.

I wonder why they did away with the porch light?

On ours, it was even an LED..

I'd be very surprised if they did away with porch lighting. My bet is that it's just moved to the underside of the awning like so many other RVs have.

There are also decor differences in fabrics and wall coverings. All cosmetic, mechanically they are identical. Both go down the same assembly line at the factory.

Porch light is gone...guess they figured everyone was happy with the awning LEDs. Never had it so don't miss it.

Wow! So you have to put the awning out to have exterior/patio light? Or is the light strip under the awning roll so light is available regardless of awning position?

That's a tough one for me to understand! No exterior lighting unless awning is out. Sorry ... I'm having a hard time believing it ... really?

The led light strip that runs the length of my awning, works both ways. Awning in or out

I agree Ty ... we have always had a light at our entry .. honestly wouldn't want it any other way !
We enjoy our lighted awning...but, we always bring it in at night when retiring.

Putting the LED light strip under the awning so it provides exterior light regardless of awning position makes sense. This is normal/common mfg practice these days and is what I figured Thor did with the new Axis/Vegas if they removed the classic sidewall light fixture.

Context: The Axis/Vegas light strip has been in the awning roller where it can only provide usable light when awning is extended so my disbelief/shock/surprise is that they would remove the classic patio light and leave the LED strip in the awning roller.

Same here but in windy conditions and coming back at night it's handy.

We went and looked at a new Axis today 24.1 our first time in one! We really liked it... now they had a 2016 and 2017 side by side can save about 10Gand on the 2016.... but really like some of the new things on the 2017 tough choice!

It'd actually be nice to have light strips in both sides of the awning. The one on the coach side to serve as a porch light and the one on the roller because it provides WAY better light when sitting out. And both on together would be awesome. It would be pretty simple to add a light strip to the coach wall up under the awning, rather more difficult to put one on the roller. So if I had to choose a new coach with only one, I'd opt for the roller light.

I had the LED strip on the coach wall on my prior class c and now on the awning roller with this coach. An LED strip on the coach wall of this coach would almost be useless because of the passenger's side slide. I did change the "porch light" bulb and replaced it with an LED bulb. That bulb made quite a difference in light.

You might want to take a hard look at the deal for the 2016. It might be an E450 instead of the E350. The other thing is that I think the 17s have the tankless hot water system. Personally, I wouldn't want one for the RV because they can be a bit finicky. Just a thought.

Dont know what the tankless units cost but they usually tell the regular homeowner, that unless you use lots of hot water (teenagers I guess) they won't save enough to break even before wearing out. Using a bunch of hot water is something Ever's rarely do.
