Do you bring special clothes for set up or breaking down camp?

I have found, being set up is so hands on, I need to bring extra coveralls, or bib overalls, to keep from soiling my regular clothes up nasty.

Me, I place pads under the leveling jacks, I kneel down getting to the shore power cord, same in the compartment for my water hook ups, it's much easier than bending over.
Then add rain maybe, a throw carpet sometimes is a pain in the butt!
Plus with toys in the garage to unstrap (motorcycle & trike), it seems I am always crawling around.

What do you do?

Since a lot of RVs have outside showers: why not simply undress, hook your rig up, and then take a quick shower?

Well since we're camping we already aren't wearing the business suit so it doesn't matter so much.

If its raining I just run otherwise we do carry some rain gear (and sometimes even an umbrella).

I'm with Bob, usually just underwear to set up and take down, then shower outside before i go in.

No special clothes; I usually am wearing jeans that I don't mind getting dirty. I have a full rain suit (hooded jacket and pants w/suspenders) if there's lots of liquid sunshine.

Since my old bones don't cooperate like they did a few decades ago, we also carry a gardening seat/kneeler like the one pictured that I use when dealing with the toad's dolly attachments and any other tasks that require kneeling. The arms help greatly when it's time to get vertical again. Folds small enough that it doesn't take much room in a storage bay.

I usually had a pair of shorts and t shirt that I used to do takedown (and then I would shower and dress before we hit the road).

I have found that a 5 gallon buck with a lid makes a great seat, and makes most hookup easier. However it doesn't help with jack pads.

I heavy rubber gloves, and knee pads if I'm going to be kneeling on the ground. I always keep a clean shirt to change into in case the work causes some sweating - them it's fresh wipes, Old Spice DO and new shirt and we are off! I may start wearing a hard hat as once that full wall slide is out, I'm hitting my head every now and then!

Dang, does it really take that long for you guys. I hook up in about 10 minutes. I wear rubber gloves if I deal with the sewer stuff. Other then that, nothing special. My stabalizers require kneeling but it's only for 30 seconds each side.

The hard hat ain't a bad idea though. I once stood up too early and knocked myself out as I stood up and hit the corner of the slide. That left a mark!!!

No kneeling for me, just stand outside with the remote and out comes the slide and awning and down go the jack, all done with one hand and a cold beer in the other.

Hey, that 50 amp power cord is like a Boa - tough to get it to coil some days, and then there's the cable for the TV and 2 black tanks!!

I usually use my 30 amp cord if I don't need to run the second A/C. It is currently 73 degrees in Fredericksburg, TX. As for the TV cable, my mobley shows a 272.83 mbs download speed and 6.87 mbs upload. Fine to watch 4k TV without cable on Hulu + live TV. I still struggle with a 10' section of 1/2" water hose and 20 ft 1" of sewer hose.

What do you do?

Pull into whatever spot. Open a beverage Assess, look at everything, awning clearances, where level might be, the entrance step and location relative to the outside living space. Easier to reposition now if needed!

Tie a rope to those jack pads so you can toss them under a bit deeper than needed and pull them toward you to position under the jack leg. When you're ready to go, just pick them up easily by that rope. And a loop on the end of that rope hooked on a small command strip hook attached to the side means you never need to bend down. If your jacks legs are way under the rig, well that just sucks, but I'd have to wear one knee pad!

In a dozen different RVs, the power cord and hose go in an easy to reach compartment. Only time I've ever bent down for those is when the water hookup is in underground box. Remember that mentioned knee pad?

For toy hauling; straps always tighten and release up top. Can't remember having a motorcycle, ATV, SxS, etc... that didn't have tie downs below waist level. Leave the low end still hooked and if it's not a flatbed trailer, think about wall/side handy storage up off the ground to eliminate bending over even to pick up the end for securing things again.

Keeping a single knee pad handy can sure go a long way to keeping comfortable in any weather, either arriving or leaving.

I'm fully self contained.
Setup could consist of pulling in & turning off the key.
That's why I run a class A & not a fifth wheel or pull-behind.
I like the convenience of not doing anything.
Matter of fact, I rarely even use my slide.


Of course, there are times I want to play it up big and pull out my "stuff" but there's always time enough for that tomorrow.
