Draining fresh water tank

Can someone tell me where the fresh water tank drain is located on the Axis 25.2? I know it was pointed out to me in the PDI but I can't remember where it's located!

I bet the answer is in Ed's Axis/Vegas manual...
but find your fresh water tank (exterior fill will show where that is) - and drain should be right where water line leaves the tank heading for the pump... 1/4 turn valve with hose going thru floor to drain.

Thank you! I found the answer in the owners manual (who would of thunk it)
I just added Ed's Manual to my iPad . Much easier than digging out the manual!

Sforl..what is "Ed's" manual? My Thor manual is not specific to the axis. I eventually found my drain valve under the bed at the rear.

The drain is under the couch behind the driver's seat. It is at the aft end of the fresh water tank.

So how many days does it take for the fresh water tank to drain?
I've opened the valve and the water is trickling out!

If it's just trickling out you might have something funky in the line. Maybe a critter got in the line. I had to remove a mud dauber or some kind of critter mess out with a straightened coat hanger. You might give that a shot. Also leave the faucets open to allow air into the tank while draining.

Opening the faucets helped a little ! Where did you put the coat hanger to clear the plug? In the outlet underneath the MH?

Some folks have suggested turning on the water pump and using the outdoor shower to assist with draining the tank.

I was going to mention to have patience.... It is about as fast as watching paint dry (in this heat paint is probably faster)

But, have faith, it will drain dry

Yes. That wasn't fun.

Unfortunately I don't have a coat hanger or anything to check for a plugged line!
Patience??? What's that?

The fresh water tank on my 2015 Axis 24.1 would barely drain through the dump valve.

I found the fresh water dump valve clogged with plastic shavings. The shavings were clearly from the holes drilled in the water tank for pipe fittings and the level sensors (presumably during the manufacturing process).

I had to take the dump valve out and clean all of the crap out of it. The metal filter screen on the water pump inlet was also nearly totally clogged with the same shavings.

I love my RV but yet another example of shoddy manufacturing by Thor (or their water tank supplier).

Dump valve? Where is that located?
The water pump on my Axis was replaced recently but I'll check that tomorrow!

Bad terminology on my part. By "dump valve" I was simply referring to the water tank "drain valve".

On my Axis 24.1, the drain valve is one of the three valves near the water tank under the bed on the passenger side. The drain pipe runs from the water tank, to the drain valve and goes down through the floor. It drains water onto the ground just behind the fuel tank.

It is unlikely anything is plugged. The Axis/Vegas units are notorious for having a slow drain from the fresh water tank.

To make it drain faster I usually turn on the pump and open both hot and cold on the outside shower, or if I have the panel off with access to the low point drains I open them up (on my 24.1 they are right next to the pump and thus will drain the tank very quickly).

In my Axis, the drain valve is located under the jack knife sofa. I can also see a valve in a line that comes from the fresh water tank into the water pump. Should that valve be turned off when draining the tank?
I did as Jamie mentioned and drained it in part using the outside shower. I got concerned about over using the water pump so I just left it to drain overnight!
I will be curious to see how much is left in the tank today!

Is there any way for you Axis/Vegas owners to mod the fresh water tank to use PVC and a larger valve to drain. The one inch PVC drain on my Challenger will dump a 100 gallon tank in a few minutes. You might not need something as large as one inch but something bigger than what you have might help.

That is a possibility. The drain valve and line is the same as any of the other fresh water plumbing lines.
