Driveway parking slide use

Attached are a couple of pictures of ACE 27.1 parked in our driveway. There is a good grade to our driveway side to side and front to back.

How level should our rv be before we put out the slide? It is a long slide, and I am concerned about slide binding.

there's no way pictures can give a true 'picture' of slopes and grades... but just level your coach and then run out the slide, just like you would at a campground.

This has been sitting in our driveway for two weeks. And we have been in it twice for about ten minute. Everything is a new web search, and tube adventure.

Slopes are about 3-4 inch s-s, and 6-8 inch b-f

So why don't you level it? Inquiring minds want to know.

Do it manually, it's easy to follow the procedure and you can go as slow as you like. Best place to practice is at home.

I agree. I level mine manually. Jacks work in pairs. If the left side is low, just start lowering the left side jacks until the coach is level. Just have a level inside the coach with you to check it.

Certainly understand being cautious when things are new.... first time..... learning..... etc. Common sense can be your friend.

Getting things as close to level as possible is what you need. If the coach is going to always be parked in the driveway the same way when not traveling, you might want to get some boards and build a permanent “manual leveler” that you can drive into when you park it.

We rarely put our slide out at home but we try to keep it level in case we do put it out.

It appears that you have three choices:
Level your rig...
Hire a contractor, to "fix" the driveway"...
Park at walMart...

I'm perhaps on of the fortunate ones: my driveway is pretty level, and the Equalizer system makes sort work of it.

But it's not a difficult thing to do: and we all could use the practive.

Good luck!

Your question is how level should it be? It depends on how long you want the little motors to work. Anything but level puts an undo strain on the motors. The slides will likely work but it definitely makes them work harder then designed.

Don't take short cuts on leveling... It will save you headaches down the road.

Your refrigerator likes to be within three degrees of level: I'm sure that your slide feels the same way...

My driveway is very steep as well (but only one angle). If you do decide to TRY and level make sure you BACK IN the RV and keep the REAR wheels on the ground so your RV dont roll and damage the jacks. Also use two or four wheel chocks.

But I still have to stack 6 blocks under my front jacks to get "close" to level. I dont even try anymore and I never put my slide out unless the RV is level just to be safe.

I have an ACE with the super slide and I always auto level it first and then extend the slide.

Wow!
But on the bright side: you'll never need to worry about water puddling up underneath your rig ...

To level or not to level

Level it in your driveway. FIRST, put some wood down under the level jacks.

Our Axis does not have levelers built in. We have a couple bags of
Leveling Blocks which you can get at your dealer or on Amazon. We have a sloping driveway .. and always level our Axis when not in use...whether at home or at an RV Park.
attached what we need in our driveway .. it is so easy to do...

hmm no idea why it posted photo 2 times !!!

Never, Never, ever raise your wheels off the ground. Put blocks under them or find another place to park it.
