Locking gas cap
I have a 2016 Hurricane 35C on the Ford F53 chassis. Has anyone purchased a Locking Gas cap for one of these? Brand name and part number would be very helpful if you would share.

I got mine at a napa auto store. Bring you old one to match up to be sure.

Stant makes replacement caps for all sorts of applications. But I'll bet if you took your cap into an Auto Parts store: they could match it up with something appropriate.
Good luck, and Happy Hunting!

Back in the 70s gas crises people (at least in my poverty infested college community) used to steal gas a lot. Sometimes they siphon it out of the filler but sometimes they just punch a hole in the tank and put an oil drain pan under and run. That way they can come back after it’s full and get it without having to hang around being bad. I think if someone wants to steal my gas I’d rather have them just siphon it out than destroy my tank. Just a thought.

PeteMH - I am not so concerned about someone stealing my gas. I am more concerned about some punk kid I blew the whistle on putting something in my tank out of revenge....

Yes, I hope it blows over also. I set up a video camera but if I catch him near my MH he WILL wish he was in jail...

I had a locking cap my previous RV. Was a Ford E-450 super duty Forest River. When I traded it in an purchased my Thor I swapped gas caps. Works fine with no issues. You could just walk up to the auto parts counter and tell them what you have, I doubt you’ll have any trouble.

Funny story: Our neighborhood was having a problem with gas theft. I had purchased a new ski boat with a two stroke outboard, back then you ran the first two tanks with double oil for break-in. Thief’s got about 20 gallons of my oil, a few days later I noticed one of the neighbor teen kids driving his car and blowing LOTS of smoke! Went to talk to the dad, interesting conversation, didn’t see the kid driving for about a month after, gas theft stopped.
A few weeks later gas theft started again. Next door neighbor was a Highway Patrol Officer, his patrol car got drained, he was PISSED. His wife had a trained attack dog that was big and mean as hell, he put a long chain on the dog and a bed by the corner of garage. Didn’t have to wait long, two nights later the dog found a new chew toy, same neighbor kid as before! Some idiots just don’t learn!!! This time after getting a few stitches he went to jail, his dad insisted!!! Never had gas thefts in our neighborhood again!

Stant 10510
I used a Stant 10510 on my Greyhawk (E450). I kept the cap when I sold the Greyhawk and put in on my Windsport. Works fine.

I fuel theft is a concern; do what a buddy of mine did.
He "accidentally" left a five-gallon can of gasoline outside...
...Only it had about three gallons of water in it.
It didn't take long to find out whose car was running poorly!

All comments so funny. Water in gas can brilliant. Flaky as I am I'd forget about the water and use the gas in ine of my vehicles! ouch

Locking Gas Cap
Does anyone know where I can get a locking gas cap for Thor Freedom Elite 2018 model, Ford F350. Just had 40 gallons of gas stolen. Can't find a locking gas cap for my model. Tried Amazon, Ford dealers, Camperworld, auto parts stores. Can someone help? Thanks

I just purchased this on on Amazon.
Works great!
Also, check the "open box/returns" for a cheaper price.
The one I purchased was $8
Amazon E350/450 Locking Gas Cap - $13.78

Not anti siphon?
Since anti siphon valves are standard on autos nowadays, I assumed my RV would also be equiped with one. I'm surprised that they are not.

Have you tried it an an F53 chassis? A definitive answer from someone whose done it would help a lot of us. Of course, for $8 I guess I could just try it myself!

Amazon offers free returns at no cost as long as you order thru Amazon Warehouse and not a 3rd party.
WarEagleDan already stated above he used the same locking gas cap on his E series and F53.
