It works just like home.
I prefer roku due to the independant channels available.
We really don't use it though.
Between movies downloaded on our phone and grit and me and other Ota stations we don't get at home, we've never use the roku and Firestick and Chrome that our 24.1 is set up with. (yup, all three came with our 24.1, nope, never use them.)

We have both the fire stick and a Roku and use each of them pretty extensively. The Roku is probably easier for the novice user and the fire stick is more customizable for experienced users. We do have full-time unlimited internet via a hotspot also.

We use the firestick on just about every trip as long as we can get a good cell connection. We have unlimited data on our cell plan hot spot.

We use it when there is nothing OTA. We like it but it is not really necessary if you have a smart TV. Our Samsung TV in the house has so many apps installed from the factory we have not gotten thru them all in the 2 years we've had the thing.

We have a firestick and it works pretty well if the campground has decent wifi. It's nice to be able to watch your dvr from home while camping..

We use firestick on all 3 TVs, TOGO for wifi. Never have to rely on campground wifi again.

Felt like the Rokus covered more than the Firestick so went with those. Can anyone go into greater depth why you chose the Firestick?

We have firesticks on two TV's. We will add it to the other three TV's. We are currently using a hot spot for the wifi. Works perfectly. But will will install a TOGO for that in a couple of weeks.

Best thing going with Firestick is when it's combined with an Amazon Prime membership - take advantage of a wide array of free content, plus purchase and rental options. We recently upgraded two TV's in home to Toshiba 4Ks with built in Fire capability - and loving them so far. May try to mount something like that in the rig when the cabin TV dies.

Now as far as usefulness while on the road - that remains to be seen. After our home upgrade, we have a "leftover" Firestick we plan to put into the RV. As others have said, you'll either need VERY good campground WiFi or carry your own hotspot with scads (that's the technical term) of data.

Can't wait for widespread 5G capability!

We have a firestick on our living room and bedroom televisions. We also have ROKU, but prefer the FIRESTICK, in my experience the FIRE TV is overall better than the ROKU. Picture quality and streaming quality seems to be better ( and the fact that it integrates with ALEXA doesnt hurt either)

Yes, it works great. Plugged it into the little distribution box that comes with the motorhome (in the cabinet). that way the signal goes to all the tvs in the motorhome and the remote is rf so it will work from the bedroom or outside as well.

Just switched to Fire TV’s

Made the switch to all Fire TVs. Love it. Requires the use of my att cellular router with unlimited unmetered 4gLTE. Also love!!!!!
Ditched the satellite completely.

We use Ruko, I'd say they are about the same, we like it! But either one only work with good wifi, so we have a mifi from Verizon which as long as your cell phone has a signal mifi turns it into wifi !
