Good luck! Here's to hoping that the jetskis and furniture don't follow you home!

We're ok in Lake County... Could have done without the eyewall deciding not to follow NWS predictions and passing directly overhead at 3am....
That last hour took out power... And two large pines. Fortunately neither hit the house (both easily could have). One missed the pool enclosure by inches... The other missed the RV by 3 feet.... It did clip the garage... And buckle the concrete in front of the only entrance door I can use to the garage without power... Of course my tools to deal with that are IN the garage... as are the full gas cans for Genny... and both vehicles...
Lost sections of fencing too... And lots of branches down of course.
Certainly could be worse... Standalone Genny running fridge, freezer.... Phones, laptop charging off 12v batteries I brought into house yesterday... Need yard to dry out a bit before I try moving the RV closer to house to use that Genny... I think I can get around the trees.... Did I mention the chain saw is in the garage too? Lol
Hope everyone else is ok... The say half the utility customers in FL are without power.... And that was hours ago... The storm still moving north. A lot to cleanup for everyone.

Feeling blessed this morning. Our power was uninterrupted, and the big 3 AM wall of wind apparently didn't cause any damage. Winds are expected to remain high all day, so any raking of debris will have to wait until tomorrow.
Thanks for all your thoughts and concerns.

Thankfully we're good. When the track changed suddenly it got a little crazier where we are but appears to have spared our RV site. Without power now but we have a generator, providing coffee and internet, two of life's necessities! Little damage, all things considered. VERY lucky!

Our Cape Coral home did extremely well for experiencing over 100mph gusts. Lost a storm door but right now that is the only visible damage. We were one of the few homes in a small pocket that have power.
We were set to head out this morning. Challenger is almost full and could probably make the 465 miles trip. My DW's car will need at least 5 or 6 gallons along with a full tank to make it. So today we are expanding our gas can search. There were none within 20 miles of our campground yesterday so we will devote the day today to expanding our search out.
I'm not complaining. It looks like our biggest problem from Irma is going to be getting fuel to go back to our undamaged home. I am certainly giving thanks for that!!!!!!

From what I hear about or home, we only had a section of the fence gate damaged.
It sounds like Birmingham was the place to go for evacuation. There must be at least 4 from the forum up here. We are about 8 miles from Jerry and not sure where everyone else is located. We are at Cherokee RV Park. No amenities, but with family in their 5th wheel trailer. It has been great catching up with them.
Looking like we are going to leave Wednesday morning to head back to the house. Not sure where we will stop on the way home. I'm going to travel mostly back roads. We shall see how gas becomes available or not.
Everyone continue to be safe.
See all in DeLand late October for our get together. We can swap storm stories.

I live in Panama City and just drove Hwy 20 from Blountstown to hwy 77 from Panama City and the traffic east bound is bumper to bumper. cant count on gas stations having fuel with the amount of traffic headed back south.
Safe travels home.

Thanks to all for the safe travel wishes. We should be okay to get most of the way home before needing gas. Plenty up here in Birmingham area and reasonable $2.499/gallon. I'll fill up before heading home. By Thursday afternoon I'm hoping that the stations will be open and have fuel.
Don, our place was out of power for about 48 hours, city did a marvelous job restoring power.
Everyone be safe in your adventures, be they at home or on the road.

Problem is the availability is changing too fast...
Places closed or out of gas listed as available.... And stations listed as out actually had some.... Remains a challenge here.... Couldn't find any today. Not critical need yet.

That's great news!!! Hope you make it home safely with no problems. I can understand the gas problems with so many people evacuating and now trying to return to their homes. Best wishes for a safe trip!!!

We headed out around 4am from Cottondale Florida and got into Cape Coral 9 hours later (460 miles).
We stopped on I-10 just 63 miles into the trip and fueled at the Flying J (exit 192). DW's car only holds about 10 gallons of gas. Even though it gets around 38mpg I still stopped half way and added 3 gallons out of a gas can.
The Flying J we stopped at wasn't busy at 5am. I looked at several as we passed different exits and there were numerous ones open. Based on the horror stories I heard from social media sites yesterday I was shocked how easy the drive was today.

We made back home late afternoon today. Up until we hit the Florida State line, gas was plentiful. We came down 19 to 27 and through the country. Lots of damage. Many places yet without power and gas.
We had more problems finding a place to stay last night. Most campgrounds did not have power. We got lucky to find a spot at US19 and I10, A Stone's Throw RV Park. Great for an overnight stay. Reasonable also.

We returned home on Tuesday. The Nor'easter plus high tide plus Hurricane Irma brought the St. Johns River up enough to take off the platform at the end of my dock. Boat on lift appears to be OK, although I can't get totally out to take a good look. Also have trees down and tree limbs and debris everywhere. No electricity for 5 days, but whole-house generator kept us comfortable. We are thankful that damage was not worse as we see others dealing with much worse situations.
