Fresh Water Tank Cleaning Port

I was wondering if anyone has installed a cleaning port for the fresh water tank in an Axis 24.1?

I had some trash in the water line going to the pump that starved it. I took apart the water lines and cleaned out the trash. It was a white paper like material and black rubber like material that had plugged up the line going to the pump. I used a dowel with a paper towel wrapped around it to clean out the water outlet of the water tank. I think I got most of the material out. It occurred to me it would be nice to install a cleaning port on the fresh water tank to be able to clean it out if necessary. I know some fresh water tanks on some boats have such cleaning ports.

Thanks,
Sli22sli

Nope, usually once you get all the construction chips and the like out it should be good to go.

Funny thing just had the same thing happen to us. Water pump worked great one day it stop. Ended up being a relay quit. Changed the relay pump worked but never the same after a lot of cussing taken apart several times finally discovered there was something stuck in the filter. No idea where it came from but got it out and everything works. Just a good reminder of things to trouble shoot first when you have issues with the water pump in the future.

Not funny: sad.

All that crap comes from the Thor assembly line, just like all the sawdust, wood chips, extra screws etc in all the out of the way places.

Once you flush the crap out of the FW tank there shouldn't be any more issues as Jamie said.
