Front hubcaps on Windsport

Seems like the only way I can attach an air pump to the front wheels is to take the hubcaps off. I understand that most of the 'nuts' are fake and only one or two per wheel actually come off and are marked somehow, but how do i remove these? I have the tool, but do I twist it, pry them off, or ... ? Thanks!

Why not just buy a straight on air chuck from a truck stop. That will fit through the slot of the rim to the valve. Thats what I use to air up even my duals on the rear.

The bright work covers are called wheel simulators. The ones on an F-53 chassis have three screw on beauty nuts that simulate lug nuts, The Tee handle tool you have is used to unscrew the beauty nuts. Left is loose. The ones that you need to remove have three small detents on the back surface which clips the stainless steel cover over the actual nut.

Thank you for the replies. I'll be unscrewing the three "beauty" nuts in the future, thanks for the clarification that they unscrew.

Ding, ding, ding... give this guy a free tire rotation! A long straight air chuck works great for filling the tires. I also use a long straight pressure gauge.

Yes, a long straight air chuck work great. But for convenience sake, I installed longer valve stems. If I get some place and have to use a regular air chuck, I can.
