Gfci
Watching TV this morning and it suddenly shut off. Checked and all the outlets marked GFCI protected are without power. Checked the GFCI itself. It is popped, but won't reset. Do any of you have suggestions for what might remedy this?

I think I was too quick on the trigger. I thought the GFCI was popped, but I think it might be IK after all.

Do you have power now?
Just t let everyone know I had my trip every once in a while. It would reset and last about a day. I decided to look for the gremlin and found moisture in the outside socket. Dried it out and then sealed it like the factory should of. Fixed it

I agree: keep the water and the "juice" separate, and it'll cut down on a lot of this stuff.

We are on the road now. We left before they got power back, but I think we are OK now. Will know for sure when we plug in tonight.

Here's to hoping that there are no "shocking" surprises in store for you: good luck!

I had problem with GFCI on a travel trailer we owned. I ended up replacing the GFCI and it corrected the problem. Also, the new GFCI switch had an audible alarm that sounded when it went out. The alarm was great, I bought the GFCI at Home depot.

Have had intermittent GFI issues since we got the Gemini. It will occasionally trip, dealer at one point claimed to find a faulty ground in one of the kitchen outlets, same circuit, but it really made no difference. It has never tripped when we have been out, only while plugged at storage. Dealer says it must be dirty power!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not sure how to prove or disprove that. It sometimes will go weeks and weeks without tripping, even in storage, sometimes less than a week.

Oy, you've got a tough one. First off "dirty poer" is bs. Ask him to put that in writing for the deposition, lol.
I'd start by swapping the 2 GFCIs, or replace the troublesome one. Unplug everything on that circuit and watch. You have to sleuth it out by elimination even if it's disconnecting outlet by outlet.

I had thought of replacing the GFI, there is only the one in the bathroom, that has the kitchen and outside outlets on the same circuit. Since it happens so infrequently, I have really not been motivated to do much, other than complain to the dealer. As far as 'dirty power', I don't buy that either, though I plan to buy a tester to check polarity. Interestingly, the power at the storage garage will not go through the surge protector reliably, so until I know more, I can not completely discount a power issue, of some sort. If I bypass the surge protector all is well, but the surge protector works properly from other power sources. Also interesting, in my former DP, stored in the same garage, if I turned the refrigerator on, it would trip the garage GFI, but never when we were out in it. The Gemini refrigerator same brand, different model works just fine plugged into the same power source and does not trip the garage GFI. Weird isn't it?
