Best route

Any thoughts on best route from Jacksonville Fl. to Ann Arbor Mi. Traveling in 30 ft. class A with Ford escape on tow dolly ? We're new to RVing so wondered if we should try & avoid the Tennessee mountains crossing over to I-75..? thanks for any input.

In my opinion, stay away from Atlanta and Chattanooga on I-75. Both are traffic nightmares. Especially Atlanta with the problem with I-85 bridge work going on. I would take the eastern route.

Going in the Northern direction I don't think you'll have that many issues, I-75 pretty much all the way (go around Atlanta and Chattanooga if you don't like the traffic). Along that route I think the steepest freeway is I-75 just south of Cincy at the OH KY border, but going North that is downhill.

When you're in Toledo pick up US-23 (there are exit signs for it on I-75) and take that--it will take you straight into Ann Arbor (and avoid the I-75 mess in Southern Michigan). (There are usually fewer trucks on US-23 than I-75 as well.)

Thanks Jamie...I'm familiar with that route...Thought I head N. on 95 seeing I'm right on it here in Jacksonville.

We left St Augustine, heading North on 95, the smoothest road in the U.S. We took 26 N.E. to Knoxville, where we hit 75 north to Mich. we were not in a hurry. Spent the night in the Smokies. I didn't make any note's about 26, which usually means it wasn't noteworthy.

That's normally the route I take, going thru Ashville, picking up 40 W into Knoxville...thanks
