Hey Grizz

Can you tell me what the distance is between these two tow bar hooks is? Please?

I don't want to use a baseplate so (room providing) I think I'll have a welding shop weld on a couple of hooks like the ones on your bumper.

From outside to outside its 22" the tabs are 1" so that would be 20" inside to inside. Math is my strong suit as you can see.

But thats not where the Tow bar attaches it attaches farther out and lower.
Those are Blue Ox clevis connections and they measure 31 3/4" outside to outside.

Oh, oh. On this picture of your Jeep, are the brackets that I circled where your tow bar connects?

Yes those are the brackets, I ordered the Blue OX clevis connection brackets but they sell all the popular tow bar connections, Demco, roadmaster and others.

Your brackets look to be about 28"-30" across the bumper. I wonder if the Ready Brute Elite tow bar would work if I was to install the brackets at 22" instead of where yours are mounted. Any idea?

I do remember reading, but i forget where, that there is a minimum distance between attachment points for the towbar. I would give N.S.A a call they were very helpful and I'm sure could tell you.

Looking at your pic of the bumper its the same bumper as mine. I think. Why not just order the tow point brackets from rockhard and bolt them right on? They sell Blue Ox/Demco, Roadmaster and others. I think they are about 80.00 and you get all the hardware you need. (longer bolts). Then just get the Ready Brute Elite with matching clevis connections.

I bought the Ready Brute Elite today (eBay) and figured I was going to use the Maximus-3 tow hooks. But they're $225 and then another $195 for the adapter lugs. Additionally, there seems to be some concern that the adapter lugs (which are advertised as Blue Ox adapters) wouldn't work with the Ready Brute Elite.

So buying them just to find out they weren't going to work, was something I would rather avoid if possible. And like you said, the tow point brackets made by Rock Hard, are less than $80 bucks and a whole lot easier to install.

But my Jeep is a Rubicon Hard Rock edition and the bumper is quite a bit different than yours, so it's questionable as to whether I have enough room to bolt them on. As such, I've been in a "creative adaption stage" most of the day...

It would be great if I could put them just to the left and right of the winch, but there is only 23" to work with and I'm afraid that wouldn't be enough.

Ah I see now! I thought (thats where the trouble usually starts) our bumpers were the same. Not even close And now I see your dilemma you don't have much room at all. And to add to it, on mine those tow brackets bolt right into the frame horn at the end so there is a firm attachment from frame to bumper to tow points. Have you cruised the Jeep forums? Maybe someone has come up with something creative.
