I have sold vehicles both with a clear title and with a lien on it. It really didn't see a difference, just be upfront with the buyer or in your sales ad.
I live in Missouri where one receives the title it just indicates that there is a lien. What I did was to go with the buyer to my bank and buy a cashiers check for the payoff in his presence and the mail it overnight in his presence. Worked for me that way.
If I decide to sell my RV it will be easier since I have no loan on it. I probably sell mine this spring as it is a little big and we really want to buy a used Vegas/Axis RUV. Right now we have a 06 Winnebago Sightseer 30B.
