How to level coach

I need some help on how to level my coach. The site where I store is level side to side but significantly lower on the front end than the back; because of this I can’t pre cool my refrigerator before trips. I’m guessing I need to raise my front end by about 7 inches. I’m a single woman so looking for something I can manage. Thoughts?

What model coach? Do you have automatic levelers? If not, you can buy the "Lego" style blocks at CW or any other RV supply type store. Drive front tires up on them for the height you need. It doesn't have to be perfectly level for the fridge to work. Some here with the gas fridge can give you those tolerances...seems like it's 4 or 5 degrees either way. Make sure the blocks/ramps have the proper weight rating for your front wheels.

Most drivable coaches needing a bit of height I see drive on the orange plastic LEGO looking squares. Making a ramp looking configuration. Hope this helps.

To pre cool your refrig, freeze three empty bottles of milk. put two in the refrig part and one or two in the freezer

As Gritz Carlton said, use 'lego' style blocks. It may be trial and error as to how many you need to reach the height you need.

Hey Gritz: I have a 2018 Thor freedom Elite I have the lego-type blocks but my coach won’t climb on them...it just pushes them forward. I tried to run the fridge after raising the front somewhat but it wouldn’t run.

Could you drive a stake righr in front of the blocks? It might hold them in place...
Alternately: try building a ramp that is longer, and has a more gradual approach angle.

You need to step them up like a ramp. So the whell just has one to climb to start, then higher as you go. They interlock so once they can't move after the wheel is on the first one. It may require two sets of the blocks.

Do you have an asphalt driveway? We've had the blocks slip out from under the wheels on asphalt before.

Get a rubber welcome mat and put the blocks on that.

We have a pair of these, which are handy. Leveling on a steep slope, we drive up on these and use the lego blocks under the front levelers so they don't have to go out as far. https://smile.amazon.com/Camco-Tri-L...gateway&sr=8-6

Another thing that is helpful is a level that measures the inches you're out of level. That way you know exactly how many blocks to put down.

For that purpose I installed a Level Mate Pro on our RV. It connects up to your phone to tell you how far out of level you are (of course you have to have a way to level the RV first to calibrate it).

You can lay a towel under the blocks...this will give a bit of resistance to slipping. Once it starts climbing, go slow, don'the stop but make sure you don't drive "over them".

I found with our 2017 Axis 25.2, just some 2 x 12 treated boards cut about 1 foot or longer was best. The Lego blocks crack and are expensive. Go to Lowe's or Home Depot. They will even cut them for you! Use a standard level or a round bubble level and your good!!!

I have a related question.

Our street is not level. When using the automatic leveling system should all tires still be on the ground? We got a set of legos (actually 2 sets, one for each wheel) to bypass this issue because our tires were off the ground but it's still not enough and we have to use the automatic jacks to level it.

I've seen opinions fall on both sides of this discussion.
Personally: I just want the rig level, and don't worry about what the tires are touching.

Some brands offer a “stop” that lego-locks on to your ramp to prevent overshooting your blocks and falling off. I like it but you do have to use more blocks to build a suitable apparatus. BTW you should use TWO ramps on each side if you are jacking the rear or buy double wide dually blocks.

If you are holding your foot on the brake too much, it Will push the blocks. Try letting the rv just roll up the blocks.

Yes. I learned that early. If you are trying to “creep” up onto the blocks - especially the front - it’s apt to push them. But it IS a bit tricky to roll up freely and still stop appropriately. When I was leveling with blocks on my Class
C I carried 30 blocks so I could build impressive ramps with at least two blocks at the top to make this easier. If you’re doing duals it can use a bunch of blocks!
