How to replace king mattress in Windsport

I have a 2018 Thor Windsport 29m and we find the original king mattress to be very uncomfortable. We are considering upgrading to a better mattress. But now I wonder how you get a king size mattress in or out the one small door.

Has anyone done this? Were you able to get a mattress through the door?

The mattress is only 6' wide...it should bend around the corners and push right out.

Yes, we didn't like either mattresses that our 29m came with. I bought a replacement from Mattress Insider and dealt with Sarah. Good return policy and very comfortable. Got the cool top one and I think it's 8 or 10" tall. I also got one a little longer since I'm 6'6" and so it wouldn't hang off the end of the base, I cut some 1/2" by 8" or maybe more boards and screwed them to the end of the base top. About 6" on the base with about 4" over the original end. Can't go too far or you'll mash your wardrobe when you close the slide out. If you don't need it longer, just give them the dimensions and they make it to order.... Good luck, Bob Trice

So you did not have a problem getting it through the door? I measure 5’7” from the top edge of the steps to the top of the door opening.

This mattress comes rolled up and about 4 to 5 feet tall and maybe 20" wide. Easy to go in but not tried to take it out!!!

How did you get the old one out? Or was this just a topper?

Easy, just take it out short side first. It's not very thick and easy to bend and remove. Best upgrade we have made to our Windsport so far!!!!!

Remeasure, from top right to bottom left of the door.

Then forget the measurement and just take it out it will bend a little down the middle.

Maybe I was unclear. The mattress that came in our Windsport was not very thick and went thru the door just fine. The replacement mattress comes rolled up and you can carry it in your arms thru the door. Open it on the base and allow it to explain overnight....then sleep in heavenly peace!!!
